Guest guest
We've made it to round 6 with ALA for my son, he's 50lbs. and 5 yrs. old, we started with 10mg. every 3 hours 3 days a round and 4 days off, to be specific 72 hrs. on starting every Tuesday at 8am, well after 2 rounds didn't want to quite double it so since we're splitting 100mg capsules just went from 10 divisions to 6, not sure if the imperfections doing at home should be a major concern, but anyway back to the question, should we go up until we see a problem, probably not, so can anyone tell me a good weight ratio or like that to let us know there's no need to go up. I figured after this last 3 rounds at about 16.4 mg. per dose that we ought to go up to 20 or 25 mg. I believe about a year and 1/2 ago I read that would be the stop for a 50lb. child, that you do 1/2mg per pound. To ease anyone's concerns I'll just go ahead and add some of our story. We were diagnosed with a problem when he turned 2, didn't at all understand the problem till he was 3, started GFCF, wen't rough but worth it it seemed, added the slew of recomended supps all the way down to the most recommended supp companies, did even 4 rounds of ALA, we saw lots of positive results, went from no eye contact, constant stimming, and no words, to occasional, eye contact, lots of babbling and actual reciting clear words at first only from songs which I include the alphabet and counting because it's repetative enough in shows, like songs, then to actual recognition speech I guess I'd call it, where you prompt with a toy or a flash card say it and he'd say it back, although we saw this and his special preK saw still felt no support from rest of family, specifically Grandparents that are still needed to this day, due to not just extra love but free daycare, slowly but surely chipping away at whether or not he needed all this to get better, we falter and then completely, thank GOD for just months sending him back to right where he was at 3 yrs. old, and the celeb. McCarthy going very public, I actually read her book in 4 hrs. got grandma on the band wagon completely. I had restarted the diet just before watching her on Oprah. it's actually not been that long now that I think about it and he's already back to saying the pledge of alliegance at the begining of class again in school, which he had started doing and then stopped. I pray for those months to not have set him back to much, it hurts to see how much good it does and know that we wasted any time. Well, sorry I turned my Question into so much more, but please and thank you again, for all the insight that hundreds of parents can bring. It's fine. back to the question, should we go up until we see a problem, probably not, so can anyone tell me a good weight ratio or like that to let us know there's no need to go up. You have done just a few rounds at 1/3 mg per pound (16.4 mg) and from what you say below you have seen good progress. Always good to stick with what works. If it stops doing anything, then you can consider an increase, but you're doing great right where you are! To ease anyone's concerns I'll just go ahead and add some of our story. Good progress for 6 rounds :-) and his special preK saw still felt no support from rest of family, specifically Grandparents that are still needed to this day, due to not just extra love but free daycare, slowly but surely chipping away at whether or not he needed all this to get better, we falter and then completely, thank GOD for just months sending him back to right where he was at 3 > yrs. old, and the celeb. Better to think it through and do your research than to dive in too fast. You did great!
