Hi ,

Maybe you have a doxepin hangover? I know this is a problem (personal

experience) for many people, and it does feel like extra sleepiness and

thick mind fog.

I would suggest trying less doxepin & see if the problem recurs.

Hi, Ellen,

>I want to attack the *causes* of my illness, not the *symptoms*.

>>>

>Also, all opinions welcome on the following: Are CFIDS and FMS the same

>thing?

>Have heard conflicting answers.

Attacking the root cause is the best strategy - if you can find it. From

what I have seen in the research papers, the root cause of FM is even less

understood than that of CFS. I do recall seeing reports that PWFMs have

excess substance P in their CSF - since sub P is a pain transmitter, that

leads to a whole-body heightened sensitivity to pain, and corresponding

excess reaction to it (trigger points & etc.) That's the theory anyway.

PWCs don't have the same heightened sub P levels (unless they also have FM I

would guess, but nobody is researching those with both until they can figure

out a consistent testable difference.)

A couple of suggestions, which mayabe you have already thought of/tried.

Kyphosis - " humpback " in old-fashioned terms - may lead to breathing

problems, since the chest is compressed. Extended shallow breathing may lead

to effective oxygen deprivation (a la mountain sickness &

hypercoagulability). Maybe O2 treatment might lead to big reduction of the

fatigue? Testing with a pulse oximeter might show a borderline low O2 sat

level.

Schuremann's epiphistosis (couldn't locate in my med dictionary unless maybe

its Schwachman's?) - the malformed spinal column might be effectively doing

the same as Chiari's malformation? Compression of the brainstem leads to a

CFS-like syndrome. An MRI read by a good radiologist aware that that is what

he is looking for might tell. If so, you would have to choose between the

ongoing syndrome and delicate spinal/brainstem surgery.

Hope this helps.

Jerry

Hi Donna,

I have two things to say to this...

1) I have no direct experience with this particular product, but do have

some faith in the credibility of the source, and

2) Whenever someone says something like " By the way, you can get it for alot

less by just shopping around. Source Naturals has a great product for half

the price. " , I have to ask a question...

Are you talking about the EXACT SAME BRAND?

Many many people fall into this black hole, and never find their way out.

I'll only say this once. The brand/source of a product can mean the

difference between life or death. Or to say it another way, one brand of

something may be totally worthless as far as active ingredients goes, due to

manufacturing methods, etc, while another may contain what is necessary to

save someones life.

So, if you tried a different BRAND of this product, and had no results, then

by all means, please feel free to say so, but do NOT say that THIS product

was worthless to you if you did not use it.

'nuff said?

2) Whenever anyone says

Hi , My point, which I obviously did not make well, was that I also

think it is a good product and that like most things, it seems to work great for

some and not for others.

Blessings,

Donna

Make sure you have them check of entobacter, E. coli, etc, and not just

mold.

You can seal the cement with an epoxy, polyurethane, etc and some

remediation companies use a water sealer if moisture is a problem and KILZ paint

also. I recommend that you have them seal the floor.

I have had two doctors tell me they are not in favor of enzyme usage and one

sort of shrug his shoulder when I mentioned it. I am wondering if any of you

using DAN doctors have had your doctor reccommend usage of the enzymes

instead of diet. One DAN doctor recommends a wonderful natural organic diet

- gluten-free, casein-free, sweets-free, chemical free, etc. Two problems

with this! I try my best to follow this at home but my child is a

socializing teen who wants to fit in and be like every one else - ie:

Mcs, Taco Bell, etc. So I allow her then enzymes and the freedom to

choose sort of wisely. She orders cheese free items and water instead of

soda. Hey - she tries!!!! The second problem is, I live in a small town

rural area with not much to choose from in the way of organic. And what I

can find is expensive as H-ll. I can't afford it!!!!!
