Guest guest
I don't think the aluminum cans would be as much of an issue if they contained something that was low in acid (which soda is not). Acidic stuff that has been in contact with Aluminum actually leeches the Aluminum from the can. I found that out the hard way too! Speaking of mistakes: It took me months to realize that it wasn't just the canned soda, it was the cookware I was using too! I just got done throwing out all my old andonized aluminum cookware and the old stainless steel try-ply that had gotten well worn (try-ply has an aluminum core as do most stainless steel sets). I went a little overboard by throwing them all out but it was well overdue. I'm sure I would have gotten by making sure the acidic foods (like tomato sauce and broth) were cooked in a good pot, but I wanted new cookware. Oh, and for the phenol sensitive - Those lovely professional stainless steel " stay cool " handles are treated with a phenolithic compound. That's why they stay cool. I can't so much as touch them without getting itchy rashes! -Lana On 1/25/07, Farhin Ali <farhin.ali@...> wrote: > > I just realized I'm giving my > son whole foods creme soda in ALUMINUM cans, and wondering why his > aluminum > is so high in hair elements.
