Hey, it's not just jealousy, Mel, (although there is THAT, too). It's that

Tammy did the neener, neener, neener thing with her cookies! First I have to

miss the koalas, the party, the meeting, now the COOKIES, and let us not forget

the PROTEIN CAKE! Arrrrgghhh! It's a conspiracy (but you are welcome to

join my pity party, if you'd like)! LOL (Maybe we should have them pack up

care

packages for all of us who can't attend -- gee, do you think express mail

would be too much to ask for?) Teeheeheehee

Hugs and blessings, Ann

Jen,

I never put the correlation between two different auto-immune disorders

until seeing my doctor for some really bad allergies 2 summers ago. Told him

that because I was outside more that summer, from taking the public

transportation instead of driving, I was really getting hit hard by the

allergies. He asked me about my AS and back pain. Told him that it was

really hurting too, but thought that it was from over-activity from busing

it to and from everywhere. He said that since they were both auto-immune

disorders, they were feeding off each other, so to speak, when one was bad,

the other one could be expected to be bad as well. Sure enough, I started

paying attention to my allergies and arthritis and they seem to act

together.

It isn't always, but it is often enough that I notice the relationship.

(speaking of relationships - Thanks Dad for these genes you gave me for AS,

Allergies and ADHD!) LOL **sorry - had to toss in the joke, because without

laughter, there is only pain, and laughter can sometimes alleviate the pain

enough to make it tolerable. :o)

Oh, and a note on Fibro.. there are some doctors that are thinking that

there is a strong link between Fibro, especially those dealing with

" Fibro-Fog " and undiagnosed ADHD(inattentive), particularly in women. The

reason they are finding the link as a plausible connection was because the

ADHD meds like Adderall and Strattera were alleviating the " Fibro-fog "

symptoms and some of the achy feeling.

Just some food for thought, and it may not even be the case in your

circumstance. I do find it interesting though, that all of my issues may be

inter-related, even setting aside the genetics of it all.

Talk to you later,

Kat

Kat,

I'd never thought that there would be a relationship either, or that

one auto-immune disorder could trigger another one, until I read

that book. It sure was a wake-up call!

As for the ADHD-Fibro link, I hadn't heard of that. I do know that

some doctors use drugs like Strattera and Adderall when a Fibro

patient has extreme daytime fatigue, but the fatigue and Fibrofog

aren't the same thing. I don't believe there is a real " link "

between the two. If someone has Fibro as well as ADHD, that it

would be mere coincidence. I didn't develop any cognitive or memory

problems until after I developed Fibro, but I wouldn't say I have

any problems " paying attention " . It's more like I have a problem

remembering things, or I " forget " to do stuff. Still, it's

definitely something I will do some research on.
