Kristi, please write in to the Anthrax Vaccine Network at

contact@... and let us know where you are, and let us know

your story. We are fielding numerous media requests to talk to sick troops.

Just so you'll feel reassured, in the last couple of weeks alone sick troops

and veterans have been featured on the TV show " EXTRA, " in the Wall Street

Journal, on Good Morning America, on numerous radio talk shows around the

country, on Germany's equivalent of " 60 Minutes, " and in other places I'm

probably not even aware of. I'd be happy to help funnel calls your way if I

know your story and where you're located.

In fact, everyone, right now there's a TV reporter in Houston looking for

sick vets in the Houston area. Please contact me directly at the Network if

you know of anyone - we only have a window of a couple of days on this.

Thanks, all-

have their chance to speak to the media? All I hear about are the ones

that got out of the military in protest of it. What about the ones who took

it and became ill? I have not heard from any news stations that I have

emailed telling them my husbands story. I am getting ready to email CNN.

Has anyone else tried this approach? I feel the public needs to know what

has happened to people who have taken the shot and not to panic and run out

and get the vaccine if it is ever allowed to the public.

Reference Cobarruvias' message from 12-28-01 regarding mold in a state

funded junior college in Texas:

Dear ,

I was also exposed to toxic mold via my former employer, " Texas Department

of Transportation " in Austin, Texas. They did do testing, but not much

else. What they did do was move me and one other woman out of the building

to shut us up and within one week of being relocated, I was asked to turn

over my director title. When I refused, I was harassed and set-up. This

was in September of 2000, I quit my job in December of 2000 after being with

TxDOT for 5 months shy of 20 years and being with the State of Texas for 5

months shy of 22 years. My boss made sure that she destroyed my career

with the State. I was very ill and have required 4 surgical procedures to

remedy the damage to my throat, nose and gastro system. I just had the 4th

surgery on 12-14-01 to repair damage to my throat. TxDOT took no

responsibility. I thought about going after them through the

" whistle-blowers " act. They almost killed me! I spoke with an

environmental attorney in Houston that one of the people on this site

recommended. He told me that he could do nothing for me other than

workerman's comp since it was the State of Texas and they owned the building

(DeWitt Greer Building located at 11th and Brazos in Austin). He said the

only way that I could have sued was if a third party had owned the building.

He told me that his fees would eat up any workman's comp that I could have

gotten. I never did file for workman's comp. I didn't pursue the matter

any further because: 1) I was not physically or emotionally able at the time

2) I started a new job and TxDOT is a major client. I didn't think that

it would have been in my best interest to sue a major client when I really

needed the job.

The health risks are very real! I know of 9 employees with brain tumors

that occurred during a 10 year window (1983-1993); 4 of those people died.

I know of 4 cases of colon cancer that occurred during that period...3 of

those were employees that worked on the same floor. Two of the those 3

occurred in healthy young men and happened within just a short period of

the first one being diagnosed. I can't even begin to tell you how many

cases of asthma there were in the building. You don't have to be Einstein

to realize that the common denominator in all of the cases, was the De Witt

Greer Building!

One thing to keep in mind when you are dealing with the State of Texas.

The Attorney General represents all of the agencies when they are taken to

court. If you can sue, make sure that you have an attorney who has

experience dealing with the Attorney General's Office.

Good luck and best wishes!

Subject: Mold in Work Environment. What do I do?

I have a friend who works as a teacher in a local state funded junior

college in Texas.

The teachers and students have symptoms of sick building syndrome. There is

visible mold and now it has become quite noticable. Teachers and students

get sick during the week, but better during the weekends.

They don't know what to do next. The school is not willing to test the

building. They believe the school may be covering up the actual damage,

contamination and health risks.

They are lost. As am I.

Can someone give me an idea where to send them?

Tell the teachers in the sick buildings to contact the President of NEA in Washington D.C. and to let them know that the local union is not representing them. Calls to OSHA will do no good. Nor will calls to the EPA have any effect. Trust me. I am a teacher in PA and I am now in a lwasuit for whistleblowing. Neither the union nor my district stood by me when I got deathly ill from mold exposure.

It's pretty darn close, though. I bought a huge, glass jar with a lid and

emptied a ton of Myoplex (regular) into it. Now, when I want a shake, I just

lift the lid and scoop out 1/2 c. (I leave the measuring cup in there) and

boy does that work well. BTW,

the guy at EAS suggested using the myoplex regular and splitting it to

get close to the Myoplex Lt. and save a ton of money. I also like the fact

that it is thinner. Can't stand the thickness of the Myoplex Light.

Didn't someone actually find out that the powder is the same, they just put

different amounts in the different packets?

Hey did you guys hear that big thud? I think it was Jill's head hitting her

keyboard. :-) If she picks up a hockey stick and starts toward us, we should

just drop the packets and run.

Betsy - So sorry about your loss. I lost my mom at 93. All the words

about a good long life don't make it any easier, do they? It is with

the support of friends that we manage to go on. Missing her is one

thing you will continue, but I assure you that as time passes the

memories become all positive and mom becomes the best mom of all!

Ann - I second the vote on your way with words. What a beautiful

tribute that can have meaning to each of us with a loss.

Lillie - Well, aren't you the hot babe! I'm planning to join the water

aerobics group any day now... trying to work out my volunteer schedule.

Jo - Any more talk of protein and I'm going to be crawling through your

kitchen window one dark night, searching for the Jakes protein cake!

Bobbe -

Don't postpone joy. 1998 top wt. of 284.

03/12/03 268, 06/30/03 214 <54 lbs.>

If you can dream it... you can do it! God,

give me the dream that you planned for my life.

I would REALLY love to be there. I HATE missing out on the meetings and all

some)! If the money issue ever changes here, you can bet your boots, I'll be

there in a heartbeat!

Now Ann, Don't be jealous! But actually, you should have seen the cookies.

They were almost too pretty to eat. My kids didn't have any problems though, I

guess they don't appreciate ART!!
