Guest guest
Hi Anne, Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. Well, the NP is actually a good friend of Cutler. She said sometimes it's easier on the person to just keep a low dose continusously..( spelling?) I think with this will not be right. I am so relieved that her sun sensitivity seems to be gone today..I hope it stays away. She was outside swimming and laying out by the pool and no spots..I hope it was a temp. thing. She uses the compounded...oral. I am thinking of going down to 10mg for awhile ( is 20..not little like your son) I want to go really slow. She said one week on one week off..maybe I should go even shorter then one week.?? I just want to do this right. I am sick of paying doctors all this money out of pocket and I have to figure it out myself..arghhhhh...I am sure this is typical though..so , I am not alone. Thanks again.. Is your daughter on probiotics? Someone may have already asked you that. FWIW, my son is only 5, using 11 mgs DMSA and 15 mgs ALA per dose, but if lately if I run him much past 4 days on round, he starts to show stress signs. I think you should start a new round at low dose making sure you are supplementing other stuff adequately (what liver support do you have going? are you supplementing magnesium? etc.) and after the first three days on, stop as soon as you start thinking her system is too stressed out. That might set a decent baseline for you going forward as far as rounds go. It is better first to know she tolerates the chelator (i.e. be conservative on the first rounds, continuing to use the 6 hr. intervals that you found worked for her) and can be comfortable chelating, and then to see what your optimum rounds might look like, I think. This is especially true since your daughter already shows signs of adrenal stress, which can be exacerbated by chelation. I have never heard Andy recommend that anyone start with a 3 week round, though I don't particpate on or read any adult boards, so there might be a difference there. I somehow doubt it, though. I can't imagine doing three weeks, though I do occasionally dream of it when we are on day 3 and everything is peachy, I imagine all the mercury flowing out, and I want out from under this stuff ASAP, but then day four comes and we know it is time to stop....
