I have given carnitine with and without food. It does not seem to

make any difference. It does allow proper absorption of vitamins,

especially vitamin C and B vitamins, so I started giving it morning

and early afternoon with those vitamins.

Be sure to give CoQ10 with something [food or supp] that contains fat.

Selenium can be constipating, and if you notice that, give magnesium.
