Hi, ,

>Just a thought...you mentioned malic acid for lactic acid problems. But

>doesn't malic acid convert to lactic acid in the body...or am I confusing

>those two with other things?

Malic acid is a citric acid cycle intermediate; it should help couple fatty

acid oxidation and help muscle cells use oxidative (aerobic) respiration

instead of anaerobic.

Malic acid is 4 carbons; two more get added in the citric acid cycle.

Pyruvic acid (pyruvate) is converted to lactic acid, in a reaction that

gives NADH. Both are only 3 carbons. Lactate could be converted back to

pyruvate, but at the cost of the NADH made by going the other way.

Subject: sulfur

i was reading in one of the books that sarsaparilla contains alot of

sulfur--

it' an herb you might want to try. also, about the mucous reaction you

arer

having to the msm. here's what i think is happening. since you were so low

on

sulfur for so longm you never experienced any mucous. now that you have

some

sulfur in you, you are experiencing the beginning signs of sulfur

deficiency-- in other words you were totally off the scale before. so

definitely continue with the msm and other sulfurs. i would start taking

lots

of msm-- until the mucous goes away. also-- pantothenic acid (in the royal

jelly) uses up alot of sulfur. so maybe it's a good thing that you aren't

taking it now.

i would recommend getting this book -- 'the ultimate healing system' by

Subject: Coconut milk///lauric acid

Friends,

Did some cursory checking and whoever said 25 grams is right...but

it is I believe of lauric acid and not coconut milk, and it is

effective against " a variety of microorganisms. Those include

bacteria, yeast, fungi, and enveloped viruses... "

If someone heard of it being effective against larger organisms

would you say something about it?

Again just from cursory reading it seemed to me that getting that

amount might be better done with coconut oil rather than milk,

if you want a real " regime " .

My Chinese herbalist said coconut milk is " damping " and would

be better balanced by taking it with ginger.

There is also some lauric acid in heavy cream.

I made a curry with coconut milk last night and had some

strange reactions including itching...am wondering if it

was some kind of die-off.

WHat do you mean by " full spectrum " O2 therapy? And, why ex vivo when in

vivo is easier, safer & therefor, in many ways better?

PS: please clip off ALL unnecessary text from previous messages before

sending post. There was a ton of garbage on the end of yours.

<< Dysthymia >>is the clinical diagnosis for milder depression. It is a

common dual diagnosis for OCD kids and adults. As you know, most of the meds

used to treat OCD are anti-depressants (such as luvox, prozac, paxil). They

usually treat both the depression as well as the OCD at the same time.

It is easy to understand why these two critters would crawl out from

under the same rock - when you have OCD and are fighting the impulses and

urges, it is very difficult NOT to be depressed about it.

I have had dysthymia for years so we know it is both treatable and ...can

be genetically passed on within a family.

Re Enbrel and the joke:

How I relate to that joke! Got my first shot of

Enbrel on Friday at my rheumy's office. Tonight my

husband and I are on our own to administer shot #2.

Part of me cannot believe I am in no pain at all, did

not develop a bruise from the injection or the

mysterious 'where shall I pop out' bruise, no rash,

nothing! Just pain free!! The FDA better not take

this stuff off the market.

Oh. To the list members in Paoli - hello from a

Phoenixville gal who's now in Boston.

Kathy-Sorry to hear about your bunny!!!

Darcy-I really like the BOSU but I am not

using it as much as I thought I would mostly because I work out with another

girl and there is only

one BOSU. I only have the video that came with it. There is a FitTV program that

is pretty good with

the Bosu inventor...I've done it but have yet to tape it. I have to save my

pennys to buy more workouts.

I do sub it for a step in some of the workouts I do by myself (you can't do this

for all of them

obviously). Its a great piece for 10 minute workouts where you can't turn on the

tv and do a tape...which

happens to me quite a bit.

Donna- For the Minna Lessig DVD you do your warm up then you select what you

want to work that day, upper,

lower, total body or abs. Then you select how intense of a workout you want and

then how long. I think the

options are like, 8, 16, 24, 32 etc.

I ended up doing Fit to the Hits Rock Hard Assets last night as my workout

partner didn't feel well and wanted

a very easy workout. Still fun and if you put energy into it not a total cake

walk. Need to replace it soon

though as the tape is going.
