Guest guest
My 14 yr old Pdd/NOS is very irritable and has confrontational behavior. He has a self-restricted diet. I ask him to take his AFP- Peptizyde whenever he eats, but he often forgets when I am not home. It is very difficult implementing the enzymes on a teen. My son craves sugar and walks to the store and buys himself candy bars and soda. He told me he can't control himself. I have heard that sugar cravings could be a symptom of yeast. I started him on Culturelle 2 days ago and 700 mcg of biotin last night along with a b-complex vitamin and 500 mg of vitamin C, epsom foot bath. Does the treatment of yeast calm behavior? How soon should I see a response? I have read to use activated charcoal for die off, but since he is already aggressive how will I recognize die off symptoms? Should I just give the activated charcoal? My son has been on prozac since he was 6 years old. It really helped him with his OCD. A few weeks ago he starting refusing to take it because he complains that it gets caught in his throat and burns. I have researched to see if coming off this medication would cause aggressive behavior but could not find indication of this. Does anyone here have any experience with this? I have also been told that once our children hit puberty they become very aggressive. I have read several posts from the past files with families who have had this issue. Are there any parent with older children who have dealt with this? What worked for you? My husband and I are very concerned about our son's irrational behavior and we are at the point that we may need to seek placement before he hurts someone or himself. This is killing us and we could use any advice and your prayers. Thank you.
