Guest guest
My son (nearly 2yrs old) is the most sensitive person I have ever met. he is allergic to sugar, corn, wheat, dairy, soy, eggs, nuts and vitamins make him sick. When he is not experiencing an allergy he is very aware and smart. He knows his colors and shapes, speaks in 3 to 4 word sentences, energetic, engaged. When he is experiencing a sensitivity or allergy he is low functioning, lethargic, repeats the same phrase, licks stuff, dosn't turn when called and is basically living on another, very sad and lonesome planet. He can't have too many carbs, too much protien, fruit- you get my drift....Otherwise we loose him. I've been trying for a few months to find a a very very gentle multivitamin. I've recently tried Brainchilds ultra senstive spectrum complete without the minerals at just a fraction of the dose. At first, he did we'll- lot's of focus and joy, eye contact and nice energy. Then after about 3 days he developed a rash on his face and had a full blow out regression, like he did when he was phenol sensitive before no-fenol. Super lethargic, spacy, watery eyes and obsessive and repeating us rather then talking with us. 3) days later without vitamins- he's back and normal again. I think it's something in the B vitmins. So what gives! What is a mother to do? I worry he is losing out on valuable nutrition and I'm feeling sort of stuck on the next step with his health. We don't want to do chelation because he still has a leaky gut and I fear it would set us back. Currently, we are doing the only thing we know of- going to a homeopath that specializes in autism to detox and balance his little body, which has helped a lot with other issues. Does anybody else have a kid that was or is allergic to vitamins? What did you do? Will he out grow the ultra sensitive when his gut heals? One day we would like to go to Phiffer Clinic but I'm afraid he would be allergic to the supplements. Also, he just strated state run special ed pre school. It feels like such a frustrating charade because they don't get the allergy connection and they see his behavior as fixed. When he had this recent vitamin episode, he was lethargic and they told us to make sure he gets enough excercise because he is not strong enough. Yet today he is running around like any other 2 year old because he is not feeling sick, I explained why he was lethargic and thier eyes seem to glaze over. I guess i wonder if therapy is beneficial right now or if we'll wait until we heal him more to see what actual disabilites he may have. WHEW! Thanks for hearing me out and any insight would be cherished. Dani
