'sulfnbk.exe' is not a virus. That's why Virus Checks don't find it. Look on

the web site for McAfee virus check and see that the warning is a hoax. You

had two copies of this file, probably because you updated to a newer version

of Windows on the second date. This is a file handling utility for long file

names. You might now have trouble reading such files since you deleted this

utility. You should be able to recover this file from your Windows

installation CD.

,Thanks for the tip. I have two hard drives. The newest one is C:\ and

was free of this virus. The older one, E:\, contained two instances of the

virus: one was dated 1998 and the other 2000. Thus, it might be useful for

others to follow your advice and search all hard drives for 'sulfnbk.exe'

and then delete it.ph P. Klein, Sr. M.D.

Thanks for your prompt reply. My C:\ drive is running Win 2000 and the file was

not on that drive. Is this file not a part of Win 2000?
