Guest guest
Hi - My daughter (almost 7) has had many, many blood tests done by our geneticist, but all have been normal, except her pyruvates are consistently elevated. They were .08 under normal circustances (.07 is the high normal). They redid the blood and urine tests when she had a fever over 101, and her pyruvates were 1.4! They suspected her of having pyruvate dehydrogenase, but that test was negative (thankfully). I read somewhere that mercury can inhibit the pyruvate dehydrogenase process. Is it possible that mercury is to blame for elevated pyruvates (her L/P ratio was the high side of normal, but still normal both times.) We have been to a DAN dr. since, and we have our follow up on Monday, and we will get the results of all of that blood work. He did not do a hair analysis of any kind yet. I was wondering if anyone on this board knew of or has experience with elevated pyruvates. Thanks! Wendi Piper
