Guest guest
- Great news to share! I've had that same experience with several doctors. My oldest was born with torticollis (neck) and plagiocephaly (head shape issues). We did helmet therapy, pt, craniosacral, chiro, and I was always educating and working with others with these issues because it isn't something they see every day, at least as bad as our case! Now my second with severe food allergies, it isn't every day you get a child with this many allergies, testing even positive blood and skin as a 9 month old, he had issues with breast milk even. Doctors just don't see this stuff as much as you think and they are just fascinated when they see this kid. But guess what? That is why they call it practicing medicine. They just don't come out learning and knowing everything and honestly, I would think any doctor good doctor should keep their mind open to learning and listening to parents and have found many open to " alternative " medicine. The knowledge to gain in life is endless, and gosh, look what we learn here from each other. Love it! I don't have access to a DAN doctor and spend a ton on enzymes so for me working with my local ped/school, gaining support, and here, well..doing my best and thanks. Tammy my regular pediatrician After my daughter started with her wild behaviors and the sore throat 10 days ago, I got an appt yesterday with our regular pediatrician. I showed him the abnormal yeast metabolite results from Drs Data, and some of the information I've collected about yeast and bacterial overgrowth. He was familiar with the concepts but not a 'believer'. He listened to me, like he always does and gave me a Rx for 28 days of Diflucan at my request. He has been great to work with. He has noted that my daughters behavioral and cognitive changes are dramatic since we started the enzymes, supplements and GFCF diet. He asked a lot of questions in particular about GFCF and enzymes and what the theories are about it and how long we'd been on each thing. I was very pleased to share what I know, and he said he can see for himself what a difference there is. He has always respectfully told me what the mainstream medical world says about various issues, then I come back and show him results that are not always in line with the research he is familiar with. We had a long talk about gut health, normal and abnormal bowel movements( oh joy), neural receptors, nutrient uptake, giardia, h.Pylori, yeast, viruses and bacteria. He left saying " Send me everything you have on this and I'd like to do some reading. " He may not be one of the greats and he may not end up being a homeopathic pediatrician, but I really appreciate him listening and working with me and not rejecting what I'm doing. And my insurance covers everything except a $10 copay. That I can't argue with. Just thought I'd share that it might be possible to enlist your regular in-network pediatrician to help with things too. They don't have to be the enemy.
