There are a couple of enzymes that come from fruits- bromelain and

another one, don't have the name with me right now, papain?. They can

cause phenol reactions. I made sure to get ours without these enzymes.

Orange tint to the bm, especially if also rather runny, was caused by

carotene conversion issues for my son. I had to remove all carotene

foods [all orange and green foods, many yellow and red foods] until I

corrected his carotene conversion problem.

That is a common sign of phenol issues, altho can mean other issues also

It is possible that the enzymes have changed his reaction to foods

that the enzymes are not addressing. This did happen with my son and

carotene foods.

  • 3 weeks later...

Dana,

Our son too has had orange/yellow/reddish stools that have been foul

and runny. I have tried to research this with no results. THis all

started for us after his 9 month old DTaP shots and an ER visit a

week later from severe diahrea and lots of rectal bleeding.

Thanks for all the info...very helful!
