Guest guest
I give my son a sippy cup w/ Gatorade & an enzyme. I do not even tell his school. > > Hi everyone > > I just started my 4yo son on Peptizyde. He has been on a GFCF diet, > but for only a few weeks. I am wondering what to do about school. Guest guest
Just open some caps and add to his juice/water and have him drink with his breakfast - voila! We did this successfully for a year or so before school would give them for us Mandi in UK
Guest guest
Hi...Have it written in your son's IEP that he needs the enzymes with each meal and any snack that might be given. You will still need a note from the Dr but if your Dr is receptive to the enzymes then you shouldnt have a problem. Our Ped was skepitcal of the diet and enzymes at first until she saw some big improvements. HTH Rhonda in CA
Guest guest
My son's school just requires a note from the doctor. We got a very simple note from our chiropractor and the school accepted it just fine. > Hi everyone > > I just started my 4yo son on Peptizyde. He has been on a GFCF diet, > but for only a few weeks. Guest guest
My son loves peanut butter cups, so I purchased some Smart Balance peanut butter (which is gluten free & and has Omegas) and melted some dark chocolate I purchased at trader joes. First, I mixed all the enzymes with the peanut butter, then melted the chocolate and let it cool. Then, I drop a dollop of the peanut butter mixure into the middle of a silicone cup cake holder (I use these because the chocolate pops right out after being in the freezer) and add the cooled chocolate. Then just pop in the freezer. We use these " treats " only for school. Good luck, Robyn Mum231ASD@... wrote: Just open some caps and add to his juice/water and have him drink with his breakfast - voila! Guest guest
Thank you I ordered the powder the other day, so I can do that for his breakfast every morning (which will be GFCF anyway).... The problem is for special occasions, when someone brings in cookies/cake/ice cream for their birthday. Since that is NOT gfcf, he would really need the enzymes and I can't get them to him. I called and talked to a nurse from my ped office and she said she didn't think the dr would call the school with an order. She asked if it was FDA approved or recommended by the AAP..... nope. So my choices are: either let him have it and see what happens... or send in my own GFCF cupcakes to put in the freezer at school. That way he can still eat something, but it will be different... different color/design etc. Dawn

She asked if it was FDA approved or recommended by the AAP..... nope. Would the doctor sign a " written order " ? [similar to a prescription.] Enzymes are GRAS, generally regarded as safe.
