Guest guest
I remember my son going through that and I found it to be gas in his stomach. As you know gas can be very painful at times. I am wondering if the gas could be caused by two different things: 1 part could be a die off from the GF/CF and this is bringing up a lot of yeast and the second part could be too much probiotic. I know you said you were already giving her the probiotic however, her body is changing and going through a lot because of the diet. It is a really good sign that you are seeing something. Don't stop the probiotic, instead maybe reduce and gradually increase and also you might consider an enzyme like V-Gest(Enzymedica) that will help with gas and bloating. Another thing you can also try is doing certain exercises with her before bed. Ex: airplane on your knees or taking her legs and pushing them back and forth to her chest. I remember doing all of this with my son and it helped so much! Hope this helps. > > I'm hoping someone could help me. My 3 year old daughter has been gf > and mostly cf for about 4 weeks now. Guest guest
One more thing... What are you giving her to address yeast??? Candidase (Enzymedica) great for that. Just remember to go low and slow. Eventually, you might also want to look into Virastop. The two of these products together have really helped my son. He used to be non-verbal and he just turned 6 and is talking so much!! I wished I would have started him on these products when he was 3. Hope this helps! > > > > I'm hoping someone could help me. Guest guest
Hi , So do you think Candidase would work better than biotin? Right now for yeast I am doing GSE 2drops in am and biotin 500mcg in afternoon. She was on diflucan up until a couple of weeks ago. She was on this for about 6months but prescription ran out and next DAN appt isn't until the 10th. I'm so happy to hear that your son is now verbal!! That gives me sooo much hope. Thanks for your input!! Is your son gfcf? I can't get my little one to eat hardly anything and we have been mainly gf mostly cf for 4 weeks now. I'm also avoiding all the artificial junk as much as possible. > > > > > > I'm hoping someone could help me. My 3 year old daughter has > been > > gf > > > and mostly cf for about 4 weeks now. Guest guest
I'm also thinking yeast. When my son was GF/CF, I ended up giving him too many carbs. He was craving it, I thought I was doing nothing wrong because it was GF/CF. I was way overfeeding in carbs. starchy carbs that are yeast-feeders. rice cakes, pancakes, waffles, sandwiches, crackers. So much of it is loaded with sugar. Once we switched to the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and treated him for a bacterial overgrowth, we saw a ton of improvement. Guest guest
>>She had a " fluffy " stool today. Prior to that, she did toe > walking for some time which she has hardly ever done in the past. These were both yeast symptoms at my house http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm > This is what she has been on - for about 6 months now. Only new > thing is the gf/cf. What foods does she eat? > SNT > tmg > gse 2 drops in am Give the GSE at the same time as these two other supps, they both tend to increase yeast. You might need more than 2 drops of GSE. You can also consider adding biotin. Dana
Guest guest
Dana, I can only get her to eat grapes, apples, french fries, gf pancake, dried strawberries, gf cookies, occ. she will take a bite or two of gfcf chicken nuggets. I've put vegetables on her plate and well as other meats, but she will not touch them. I do give her a hotdog once in a while because she won't eat anything else. After being gfcf for this long, I thought for sure she would try other foods. She drinks apple juice heavily watered down throughout the day. I know that this is high in yeast so I'm trying to wean her off this and give her something else. She won't drink water by itself esp. when I give her her supplements. I give all her supplements at once in the morning with juice and then I give her 500mcg biotin with a little bit of magnesium in the afternoon. Should I try a different antifungal like Candidase?? Thanks for your input. > >>She had a " fluffy " stool today. Guest guest
Going GF/CF didn't really increase my son's food choices, but taking care of yeast aggressively DID!! We used Nystatin, but now are seeing great things with the BrainChild yeast kit (mostly Pau D'Arco and Biocidin). These are easy to give, too- they mix wel in juice and don't taste so bad. GSE worked well with NT ds, but it tastes NASTY. BTW, several of those foods (grapes and apples) are really high in phenols- have you tested to see if she's sensitive to phenols by removing them and giving a big dose? Also, enzymes have helped my kids expand their eating choices. I think basically they will eat more as their gut heals, so whatever you can do to heal the gut is good. -Sierra > > >>She had a " fluffy " stool today. Guest guest
I can't speak on biotin because my son has never been on that however, he was on diflucan and I did not see really any change in him. I can tell that I have seen major improvement since I have been using the Candidase. He also takes capsules (I break them open) of GSE (kirkman). He is on a very strict Body Ecology Diet. I did do GF/CF at first however, I did not notice that much difference until' I put him on the SCD (dairy free and fruit free) I noticed a huge difference with that! He looked like a drug addict going off drugs for 10 days straight. I messed up because I was still learning and did not introduce enough probiotics at that point. I next moved on The Body Ecology Diet which I can say I have seen great results. The enzymes seem to be allowing the diet and supplements to do their job. If she is a really picky eater you have 2 choices and that is to just do it and go through hell (which is what I did) or go slow and find the favorite foods she likes that are GF/CF. They make so many good ones. My son was a very picky eater and he now loves cultured veggies! Believe me it was a LONG process but, well worth it!! Take it slow and she will come along. Whole Foods has a great selection of GF/CF foods. When the language does come it will come fast. It feels like yesterday that I was reading about other kids talking and all I wanted my son to do was look at me. We have come a long way and so will you. Good Luck!! > > > > > > > > I'm hoping someone could help me. My 3 year old daughter has > > been > > > gf > > > > and mostly cf for about 4 weeks now. Tonight she is waking up > > > > screaming.
