Guest guest
He sounds like a normal teen boy almost! Yes they do at this age, rage! Raging hormones going on! But I am sure with the quiting his med this is much more than the norm. Prozac! From what I understand they need to ween off! Being on for that many years he probably has no natural serotonin in his body. Anti depresants do destroy our bodies natural form of serotonin. Sugars well send them crawling the walls. Teens seem to really want the stuff. We have a hard time with our 15yr old getting those energy drinks and soda's! I always can tell when he has had some, he gets crazy!! As far as the prozac etc. If you can get him to take, magnesium would be a good start. It is considered the calming mineral! Dark greens are a natural source of serotonin etc. Jennie<>< cindyh_95130 <cindyh_95130@...> wrote: My 14 yr old Pdd/NOS is very irritable and has confrontational behavior. He has a self-restricted diet. I ask him to take his AFP- Peptizyde whenever he eats, but he often forgets when I am not home. It is very difficult implementing the enzymes on a teen. My son craves sugar and walks to the store and buys himself candy bars and soda. He told me he can't control himself. I have heard that sugar cravings could be a symptom of yeast. I started him on Culturelle 2 days ago and 700 mcg of biotin last night along with a b-complex vitamin and 500 mg of vitamin C, epsom foot bath. Does the treatment of yeast calm behavior? How soon should I see a response? I have read to use activated charcoal for die off, but since he is already aggressive how will I recognize die off symptoms? Should I just give the activated charcoal? My son has been on prozac since he was 6 years old. It really helped him with his OCD. A few weeks ago he starting refusing to take it because he complains that it gets caught in his throat and burns. I have researched to see if coming off this medication would cause aggressive behavior but could not find indication of this. Does anyone here have any experience with this? I have also been told that once our children hit puberty they become very aggressive. I have read several posts from the past files with families who have had this issue. Are there any parent with older children who have dealt with this? What worked for you? My husband and I are very concerned about our son's irrational behavior and we are at the point that we may need to seek placement before he hurts someone or himself. This is killing us and we could use any advice and your prayers. Thank you. --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search. Guest guest
>My son craves sugar and walks to the store and buys himself candy bars and soda. He told me he can't control himself. Hi My husband has had dreadful sugar cravings for years. Recently I attended a seminar given by a guy specializing in the omega oils. One thing he mentioned was that if the body is low in one of the omegas (can't recall if it was 3 or 6) it can lead to fluctuations in blood sugar levels which in turn can trigger the body's " survival mechanism " . He said this can in turn cause a sugar craving which is stronger than a heroin addiction. He said " will power " stands no chance against this craving. (This is particularly a problem in diabetics, which runs in my husband's family.) Anyway, my husband started on a good omega blend (Udo's 369 Blend) and he has noted a marked reduction in cravings - they are rare now, whereas they used to occur daily. >Does the treatment of yeast calm behavior? My understanding is that yeast make an alcohol as their byproduct so, for some, that can cause aggression, others the giggles (my son used to be up singing like a sailor on shore leave at 2 in the morning!) As you kill off the yeast, you reduce their byproducts, so that can calm behaviour. Sometimes things get worse before they get better:-( For my 2nd son, aggression was from proliferation of bad bacteria not yeast overgrowth (shown up in a fecal test). There are many protocols for controlling bad bacteria. For my son, he went on a penicillin antibiotic for 4 days a month for a few months and that conked the bad guys out enough so now, just OLE and probiotics keep it in check. Thinking of you and praying for you and your family Good luck ._,___

I used biotin and GSE to control yeast here http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm I started him on Culturelle 2 > days ago and 700 mcg of biotin last night along with a b-complex > vitamin and 500 mg of vitamin C, epsom foot bath. The B complex and the C will tend to increase yeast. > Does the treatment of yeast calm behavior? If he has yeast overgrowth, yes. > How soon should I see a response? Depends on how well the protocol is addressing the yeast. You can try giving GSE, that really kicks yeast at my house. > I have read to use activated charcoal for die off, but since he is > already aggressive how will I recognize die off symptoms? > Should I just give the activated charcoal? You can try. Give it about 30-45 minutes after your anti-fungal. > My husband and I are very concerned about our son's irrational > behavior and we are at the point that we may need to seek placement > before he hurts someone or himself.
