I've just started biomed in the last couple months and not sure how to handle sickness. I gave her motrin before bed because she had such a hard time sleeping the night before. I didn't want to, but wasn't sure what else to do. I tried giving her a bath to cool her down, which usually works, but didn't really work this time. She probably just has a virus which will run its course, but I would normally take her to the doctor if she continued to have a fever for 3 days, especially with a rash. Last time, she had strep throat and was given antibiotics. Now, I really don't want to take her to the doctor. Is there something else I can do or give her? What do you all normally do when your child gets sick? I tried giving her the Airborne pixies, but she won't take it. Could I give her double probiotics? This is what she takes on a daily basis: probiotic - chewable 1/2 of a chewable enzyme with each meal (Natural Wellness Center) 800 mg Calcium chewable 250 mg C chewable with each meal (today I gave 500mg with each meal) multi-vitamin Thanks for your help. This is all so new and confusing to me. -
Guest guest
Try to let fever run, 102 is safe, that well kill the virus(luke warm baths can be soothing). Yet I understand the missery feeling and sometimes you just got to with the pain/fever relievers. Over the counters well delay the healing and mess with the gi flora(this is a big part of the immune) so try to avoid. The fever is important! Although this may seem hypecretical if my son is very miserable, a little benedryl well help with that(only if desperate), but all that is needed is half of a half of dose and the pain relievers are avoided! We normally use aloe vera juice, it is natural pain reliever/anti inflamatory. Some dont care to use garlic due to the taste, but 1 or sometimes a second dose well cure just about any virus/bug!! Most wouldnt chew(my oldest does...uugh), so I get the chopped form in olive oil that is in jar at store. I take about a tsp (for our youngest), crush it(this activates the natural antibiotic) mix with something like pudding etc that they can just swallow(i wouldnt let them chew, they wont like it). If the virus is just starting that should take care of it by the next day. If the virus is on a few days it well probably take a second dose that night and maybe even another the next day. This is much better than 10 days of antibiotics that is going to destroy the immune/gi eventually! It is also a natural enzyme, gi healer etc. etc. I credit garlic for a big part of our sons healing/improvements all around(I believe a lot of our kids spectrum issues is a horrid virus)! If it is toxins/metals, garlic is also a natural chelator!! I sure hope your little one feels better, our little guy just kicked a bug with one dose of garlic etc. He lived on antibiotics when younger and now hasnt had any for a long, long time! Guest guest
Thank you for the advice. I do like to try to let the fever run its course, but I never know how high is too high. When my 7yo dd runs a fever, it usually goes up to 105 or higher. My 3yo, the one who is sick right now, doesn't usually run that high. Last night she woke up vomiting with 103.3 fever and today it is back up to that. She is shivering or else she complains of being too hot. Sometimes kids can have a high fever and you can't tell, but she just looks awful. She still has the rash, but not as noticable. It's not itchy. I don't think it is strep, like I thought before. How much aloe vera juice do I give her? But that's just for pain, right? I don't think she is in pain. She just feels bad from the fever. How high should I let it get before I give her something to bring it down? - > > > > Hi, > > I'm not sure what NT means.... At my house, I eliminated strep with OLE. Try giving that. Dana

Guest guest
The aloe helps with inflammation, this is commen with any illness (inflammation). It also has anti viral ingredients. At 3yrs I would try about 1 ounce. As far as the fever, I have not been to comfortable with anything over 103. If less clothing, cool bath, cool washcloth doesnt get it down then I do consider the over the counter! I think it is just a judgment call on the mothers instincts with this. Fever is good for killing the virus but at the same time we dont want to go extreme the other way! I sure hope your daughter is feeling better. Our son is just ending a bug also(thank GOD for garlic)!! Jennie<>< > > > > > > Hi, > > > I'm not sure what NT means....
