Hi,

Yes, I have also heard about chelating aluminium with malic acid,

and about using horse tail grass(Dr.Amy Yasko uses this for

chelating it).

But, we think besides aluminium my son also has mercury due to his

impaired mineral transport. hence using ALA.

As for aluminium, based on our research if the exposure is reduced

then the body should be able to chelate it on its own. The biggest

thing with aluminium is cutting down further exposure. (Like a

dumbo,I was using my aluminium pressure cooker so often before the

diagnosis. Not sure how much of it contributed to my son's ASD, but

it definetely gave my husband a chance to say YOUR FAVORITE PRESSURE

COOKER :-)).

A few things we have taken care of are eliminating the tap water

which has fluoride(aluminium reacts to fluoride, which is absorbed

by the body), floride tooth paste, baking soda, all kinds of

cheeses, tea powder, non-stick pots and pans with teflon coating

(underneath its aluminium) etc.

After a few months we want to get the hair tests done to see if

the levels have dropped. But so far, its going good with ALA.
