Guest guest
We have noticed that the day after my son gets a probiotic he is very hyper and stims a lot. Has anyone else had this issue?
Guest guest
I feel crazy but yes I noticed that with my son as well. It's a shot in the dark but I felt it may be something called " Fructooligosaccharides " that are in most pro biotics. My son is VERY sensitive to sugars and fruits with phenols and I thought this one ingredient may be derived from a sugar of sorts. My son is still not quite 2yrs old so I started giving him a pro biotic called BabyLife by Solaray and it does not have the " fructo... " ingredient and he seems to finally tolerate this pro biotic. It may not be the very best and powerful but my son's stools are firmer and it's at least a start. Guest guest
Yes, we noticed also! I would give during day and by that night he would be hyper/aggressive(he is non verbal). I tried it with him twice and decided to wait until his gi is running smooth and use lower dose! It was to upsetting for him and I am not in a big hurry to try soon, but I know he needs them, he was on antibiotics for two solid years daily!! Just not sure if the behaiviour was coencidence or not. Now lean towards it was the probiotics after your post!! Guest guest
We were told by our DAN that the best times to give probiotics are 1ast thing in the morning about 1/2 hour before food and as the LAST thing he consumes during the day. If your kids get stimmy, it may be because the probitics are crowding out bad gut bugs (a little bit of die off?) That would mean that they are a part of the puzzle to help. Maybe you could try bedtime and see if that works. Good luck!

Has anyone else had this issue? My son never really did tolerate probiotics. I used biotin instead. Dana
