Advise Homeopath, Acupuncturist, Craniosacral Osteopath in DC Area

Pls advise a good Homeopath or Acupuncturist or Cranial Osteopath or a

Naturopath experienced with treating Autistic/ADHD kids in the

Washington DC Area (DC, MD, VA).

Pls also share experiences if your kids have improved with these

natural treatments. I am looking into these for my 5 yr old ADHD son

with attention, focus and behavioral issues.

I think enzymes and homeopathy are essential for our 2 yr. old. I think I'll

keep our son on

homeopathy for most of his life. For our son, homeopathy has stopped the waking

up at

night and crying. He sleeps 11 hours the last few months and a 2 hour nap each

day. It

has brought about a happiness in him that I thought may have disappeared after

he

became sick and autistic. It helps with focus and just general well being. The

unfortunate

part is, it really is trial and error to find the right homeopath. We have been

working with

Dr. Hong for 4 months (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) and before that another homeopath

for just 3

months. We live in Minnesota and the drive to see Dr. Hong every month is more

difficult

then originally expected. So now I think we will fly in Dr. Ian Luepker, who

co-wrote the

book " A Drug Free Approach to AspergerSyndrom and Autism.

(We're not rich, he also has family here so we're just contributing to his plane

fare.) Dr.

Luepker is based in Oregon. He is Classical and the homeopaths we used before

we're

non classical. We only work with practioners who know and understand Autism.

We see sequential homeopaths in Houston TX. (website:

http://www.homeopathyhouston.com/index.html) They have had HUGE success

with ASD kids, and also ADHD, allergies, and asthma issues. They are

also DAN! practitioners, so they are up on the latest research, and they

do phone consults. They are also at the forefront of the research on

parasites and these kids. They are part of the new research that is

coming out about Lyme disease and ASD. I'm pretty sure they have a

waiting list now, but I think it's only about a month or so that you

have to wait. Our son, Corbin, has made HUGE progress with them!! We

plan to start our younger son, , with them in the next 6 months or

so (hoping for that raise to come from my hubby's work!! ;-) ) He's not

as ASD as Corbin, but that is ONLY because we caught it quickly, stopped

the vaccinations, and started him on some general detoxing supps and

dietary changes.

Here are 2 things that are hard for people to grasp with homeopathy:

1. It is a COMPLETE lifestyle change. You don't give Tylenol for fevers

or pain, NO mainstream antibiotics....the list goes on. You view

symptoms and illness in a whole different way. When you commit to

homeopathy, to really see the results, you really have to commit all the

way. What I mean is, for little things, like even mosquito bites, you

treat it with homeopathy, instead of what we are all used to doing. It

is supporting the body's ability to heal, NOT suppressing symptoms. I

HIGHLY recommend the book Impossible Cure by Amy Lansky if anyone is

interested in homeopathy. It is also hard to find a pediatrician who

will support you. When you take your child in for an ear infection

(since most of us don't live near a good homeopath!), they prescribe

anti-biotics. As a parent, I have feared that they would call DHS on me

because I refused the anti-biotics! (BTW, my son was cured from a

MASSIVE ear infection and bronchitis this past December with the use of

homeopathy and probiotics!) You also have to be willing to clean out

your medicine cabinets, get a homeopathic kit that contains about 50-70

remedies and get some kind of Homeopathy at Home guide book. When acute

things come up (fever, bites, stomach ache, rash...) try the indicated

remedy first. There are also many other natural things that complement

homeopathy too, like Epsom salts baths, magnesium oil, some herbs, most

supps, enzymes and probiotics, and even therapies like cranial sacral

and chiropractic. And of course diet plays a HUGE role in healing too!!

2. There is some very confusing information out there about " classical "

vs. " sequential " and the supporters from both sides are somewhat

passionate about which is better. Classical homeopathy is VERY powerful

and effective and has a place in healing. Many children have lost their

ASD diagnosis using classical homeopathy in conjunction with some supps

and dietary changes. (including Amy Lansky's son!) The trick is to

find a good classical homeopath. I've heard that there is a couple in

Washington who is having LOTS of success with ASD kids via classical

homeopathy (http://www.ritalinfreekids.com/) Many other parents have

spent time and money on the hopes of classical, only to find that it

could not help. Those who support sequential homeopathy believe that

these children's bodies are so " out of sync " because of various insults,

that they have to peel away the layers like an onion, and that is a very

rough description of what sequential homeopathy is. It works backwards

through a timeline (specific to each child) to undo the insults that

have been done. (i.e. vaccinations, mercury poisoning, viral overload,

etc. and even personal traumas like divorce in the family) Don't

believe the sites out there that claims sequential homeopathy is

dangerous. HOMEOPATHY IS NEVER DANGEROUS IN ANY FORM!! It is a healing

modality that has proved itself successful and SAFE over the past 200

years!!

My advise: do your research, visit the site for the Homeopathy Center of

Houston to learn more about sequential, read Amy's book, and choose what

YOU believe is best for YOUR family!! If you DO decide to choose

homeopathy, then be ready for one of the most exciting roller coaster

rides of your life!!! Corbin wasn't healed overnight, and we are not

all the way there, nor was the ride smooth sailing. As with ANY detox

protocol, some days can be rough. But as we watch our son transform in

front of us...well, there is no way we will ever turn back!!

I hope I have answered your questions, and that this was not too long

winded!! There was SO much more I could say, but everyone has to do the

research and believe for themselves!!! And I don't want to get in

trouble with our moderator for being so " off topic " !! :-)
