Hi Everyone:

I haven't posted but the past week but I guess I have to tell you about my

new boss at work. They hired a new office manager and in the reorgianization

of the company I lost the best boss of the owners. So I had a meeting on

Tueday with the two and they told me that they can not use me in the office

and need a person to work 8 hours a day. But I could come in 2 hours a night

and work in the warehouse running reports. When I went in there I handed them

a list of jobs which was 4 pages long and never had one thing taken away but

some added since I got sick. No one helped me with my work when I was

working part time. So I have a call into a lawyer to see what is me rights

and then probably just leave and hope that they can find a person that did as

much as me and dedicated as me. I will start long term disability full time

when I quit. After 12 years it was like being shot in the heart.

But I will enjoy being a stay at home Mom and will get over the hurt.

Barbara Ann:

I think I will sit back at collect the Long Term Disability insurance for the

next 16 years. Thats when I turn 65. I will also start working on the

disability insurance the government in the near furture. I would like to

learn more about my computer at home so I would like to take classes or teach

myself more about it. And my goal is to try to make a quilt. I always

wanted to but never have. Also I have to keep me busy.

So after the hurt and depression goes away I will be fine. I also have my

trip to Montana coming up next month and the 6 month checkup at the Mayo so I

will be fine.

Having Hepc shouldn't keep you out of any job that you want to do. Many

people who are HIV positive still work as Dr. or nurses. Some employers are

very misinformed about hepc and tend not to be to understanding. I've been

lucky, none of my employers have had any problem with my hepc.

We are under the protection of anti-discrimination

laws. I'm not sure if there are any occupations in the

health industry that we would be ineligible for, but I

don't think so. If you take proper precautions, you

should pose no danger to fellow workers. Health care

workers are among those in a high risk of having hcv.

If I remember correctly they seemed to imply that's

how Naomi Judd contracted it. Today, though they wear

rubber gloves etc. and have learned much about care in

testing and working with blood products. -dz-

I have a question for everyone, Rather a survey. I myself am unable to

work, but I am thinking of jobs that I could do possibley. So I would

like to get some ideas from you all. If you work will you tell me what

kind of work you do. Thanks

I work for our local school district. I work in Personnel as the Director's

assistant. It is a fast paced high stress job. I pray I can last 4 more years!

I am a Social Worker and I am in contact with all kinds of people on a daily

basis. If I see a client that is sick I end up with it. I have missed so much

work because of that I am probably going to lose my job. I have to work for the

insurance so I have started wearing a mask if I know ahead of time the client is

sick and I use a lot of Lysol.

I myself don't work I ended up on disability but if I could find

something to do from home I would gladly give up the disability and

go back to work. I hope you find something and get good answers.

An interesting and scary question. I don't think we can always be in control.

That being said, I do think having more knowledge about how to support our

bodies when we're going through detox may give us enough of a boost to get us

through.

My Experience:

I had to leave my job twelve years ago -- the first time I dealt with candida.

At the time, I didn't know that's what I had been struggling with for years --

just knew I felt like I was heading for the rocking chair. I had been seeing all

kinds of alternative practitioners, but they couldn't figure out what was going

on. A medical doctor I saw was no help at all, and was actually quite

patronizing. I rarely took any sick leave -- just kept slogging along.

Then my employer required I work an all-nighter, and that was the end of normal

life for me for a long time. It pushed me over the edge. Oddly enough, it was my

family doctor who diagnosed the candida within the first week after the

all-nighter. He prescribed nystatin, which worked. But the die-off was

incredible, and I didn't know how to deal with it. So I was zonked out for about

a year.

I'm on the program now because I've had recurrences of candida.

I have just gotten over a three-week period of retracing/detoxing with

bronchitis. Could I have worked during that episode? I would definitely have had

to take about 2 weeks' sick leave if I were in my former job.

There's no single answer for everyone, but knowing how to help the body deal

with the healing process gives us an advantage and more possibilities.

I hope you are able to continue working. Don't forget to back off, as Bee

advises, when you need to slow down the detoxing so you can still function.

H.

> I am just curious about this. Do you find most people that have candida are

able to continue to work? I resigned from my good job because my symtoms were so

bad. I now work another job that is a bit easier. But as I am detoxing I find at

times that is hard for me. It is hard to work if you are light headed, sick,

etc...
