This is interesting. My son is in regualar kindergarten and recently another

kid made fun of him for how he talked (he is still in speech therapy).

I tried to talk to the mom about it and she jsut looked at me like I had two

heads and gave me the " kids will be kids " thing. There is also a child in the

class with a cleft pallett and the same boy has make fun of that child as well.

the mom of that child got the same response from the mom of " naughty boy "

I was in a mommy club and one of the moms wouldnt let her kids play with my

son bc he had autism b.c she thought his " weird behavior " would rub off or

something?

what do we do?

I tell other people that my son has developmental delays [he no longer

qualifies as autistic, but is delayed]. I tell other children that he

has problems talking, but he still wants to play with them if they can

be nice and maybe help him with his talking.

When I told other parents that my son was autistic, they would not

allow their kids to play with him. Telling them he has developmental

delays did not cause that problem.
