Guest guest
I signed up for this group 2-3 weeks ago and have been reading all of your posts with much interest. I print them out and read through them when I have time. I don't know how you ladies know so much about so many things. It must have taken many years of trial and error for you to get the knowledge base that you have now. Thanks for sharing with those of us who are still new and confused. My 12 year old son has Aspergers. I don't want this msg. to get too long, so I won't go into too many details, but.... How can you tell if your child has yeast issues? Are there any tell-tale signs? I have no clue if my son deals with yeast issues or not? Also, we've been eating all natural, no preservatives, additives, colorings, corn syrup, etc. for about, somewhere, around 6 mos. now I think. I don't know if this is related, but lately our 12 year old seems to be going backward. He's a good kid, so I don't mean it in a negative way. For example, it seems like he needs more explanation in order to understand things again. He's always been this way, but it's gotten a little better over the years, and now it seems to be worse. Also, he used to do this thing where he would swing his arm around. I guess this is a tick according to his neurologist. He had stopped doing this for a couple of years and now for the past few weeks he's doing it again. ?? And our 5 year old seems to be soooo active and wild and hard to control since we switched to all natural eating. Is there a connection? Or do you think it's just coincidental. ?? As far as our 12 year old goes, we wondered if this could be the " die off " effect that I've been reading about on this forum? But, all that we've changed is diet. We always ate healthily but began eating all natural about 6 mos. ago. Would there be any " die off " effect just from a diet change like this? It's been going on for several weeks now, so I'm not sure that this die off effect even lasts that long? We haven't stopped eating the wheat and dairy. Honestly, we don't know how to tell if he is sensitive to those? As far as outward allergic reactions go, he doesn't seem to have any allergies to anything. When he was a baby he was constipated a lot. Over time I was able to narrow it down to him not tolerating applesauce and carrots and things like that well. I assumed that it was a pectin sensitivity or something. Now, I'm wondering if this wasn't an early sign. Today, he eats carrots and apples fine. I think that he was around 3-4 years old when he began to get over this sensitivity. Sorry, this got long anyway. I know that you have no way of knowing what the underlying issues are with him, but I thought that I'd throw my thoughts out there. I've been reading your msgs. and you all seem to think of things that I would have never thought to think of. I had to order the book that was written by DeFelicio (sp?) from my local bookstore. They were out of them. I've been back several times to see if it has come in yet. I'm going to try again today and see if it is in. I'm sure that will help me to understand a lot more. Thanks so much for your thoughts. (((Hugs)))
