Guest guest
Hi all, I have been chelating my 14yo severely ASD son with ALA Andy Cutler's protocol every 3 hours and I started for 4 rounds at 25mgs, then the last 2 rounds at 37.5mgs per dose. My son weighs 62kgs.He has generally co-operated well with taking all the supplements My son has not shown any improvement after the six rounds and school are complaining that he is much more stimmy, his PICA is much worse and he is eating out of bins and everything visible, including foil pens, igs, leaves paper, tissues etc. By the end of the last two rounds he was showing some diarehea for a day or two which he was just doing outside many times in the garden at school. School are complaining and say something has changed this term and I haven't said anything but the only real difference is the ALA He has been having all the recommended supplements with it. Should there have been some positive improvements by now if he was going to show them? I was thinking to persist for at least 12 rounds but the constant negative feedback from school and the difficulties with managing him at home are getting me down, as he has to be watched every second with the PICA which has always been a problem and toileting and generally is alot more hyped up all the time. I was really hoping that the ALA would help him as he was developing well until all his immunisations and repeated antibiotics after chest infections and lost all skills over a short period particularly after having 3 extra Hep B immunisation doses when he was 2. Just wondering if anyone more experienced with Andy's protocol has any ideas? I haven't specifically been treating for yeast, his OAT test a couple of months ago came back clear.
