Guest guest
Can enzymes cause constipation? I just started giving my 5 year old the enzymes mentioned below. Last night about 2 hours after he was in some sort of pain. He was pushing in , in the groin area.( I only give him a half of each, the chewable ones.) He did have a bm about 40 min. later. Could this be die off? Constipation? Do the make your urination painful? Thanks, Colette

Guest guest
Unbuffered powdered vit. C, ascorbic acid version. Give 1/2 tsp. in glass of juice or water, every couple of hours until they go. Also, soak in a bathtub of epsom salts and baking soda daily until bowels return to normal. If you think the constipation is related to yeast overgrowth, try magnesium plus biotin. Dana
Guest guest
Danas suggestions are great and I am not knocking her advice (I respect Dana) but my son just went through 4 days of not going at all and we are doing the anti-virals and yeast protocal, the magnesium and biotin and all and it was not working. I may have not been giving him enough of something.I even tried doing charcoal and that didn't work so I started giving him aloe vera juice and finally he started going again. I talked to someone the other day about it and he said that being dehydrated could have been his problem and aloe vera juice is really good about getting everything hydrated and moistened in the digestive tract and that is what probably made him finally go. His son had also gone through this. He also suggested next time to feed my son a cut -up apple or some natural apple juice that has a lot of apple pectin (pulp) in it.HTH Re: enzymes/constipation > > 3 days. Guest guest
Activated charcoal will cause constipation. Apple is not suggested if constipated, pear and plum are good for BM. We're at the similar situation due to anti-viral too. It seems that olive oil is helping, as well as many vitamin C and Magnetism. We are working up the biotin dosage. Guest guest
You have been my inspiration Dana, I have learned so much from you and want to thank you. I need some advice: Backing up a little-I had started my son on the B-12, TMG, L-carnitine, folic acid, and biotin for yeast, and OLE for viruses-also giving extra C. and was asking the other day about the squirts because my little guy had 1 squirt a day for a couple of days and then he finally went just a little bit (just once that day) for the next 2 days. That was after I upped his magnesium and added the aloe vera juice. He has never been constipated his whole life. Last night right before bedtime, he started crying like he was in pain. He has been having a lot of viral die-off (I would guess this with all the chest congestion, coughing and such) and so I thought maybe his ear was hurting as he kept touching it. I put garlic oil in it and he still kept crying. After watching him for a while I realized he was pulling his legs up and then putting them back down while laying down and so I thought maybe he was having pain in his digestive tract somewhere. Anyway, I gave him some aloe vera juice with minty ginger in it and after about 30 minutes he finally stopped crying and slept all night. This had gone on for a couple of hours. My question is: what do you think from his not going everyday (he used to go really well-3x's per day) and those two days of squirts and now the pain so bad that with melatonin couldn't even sleep-what do you think about all this? I haven't a clue. Sorry for such a long explanation! Thanks so much, Re: enzymes/constipation > > Danas suggestions are great and I am not knocking her advice (I respect Dana) I don't have all the answers. Everything here, except biotin, causes yeast overgrowth. Some of it causes major yeast overgrowth. It is doubtful the biotin would be able to adequately address the yeast. And yeast can be constipating. Try giving some GSE. >>I thought maybe his ear was hurting as he kept touching it. My kids had yeast in their ears from their viral protocol, which one night two of the kids woke up with ear pain. Guest guest
Thanks Dana, I am going to get some GSE. I apologize because you told me this before and I thought just raising the dose of Biotin would help but now I won't be stubborn anymore and will try the GSE. Poor little guy. Thanks again Re: enzymes/constipation > I need some advice: Backing up a little-I had started my son on the B-12, TMG, L-carnitine, folic acid, and biotin for yeast, and OLE for viruses-also giving extra C.
