Guest guest
I experienced a strange episode with my daughter last night and I'm hoping someone on here might be able to explain it: My daughter couldn't get back to sleep so she crawled into bed and snuggled up with me. (3rd nite in a row - unusual for her) Some time passed and I felt what seemed like a vibration that lasted maybe 30sec? No noise, no shaking, no body movement - just a vibration I felt through the mattress. I asked her what that was. She mentioned something like her legs wouldn't let her get back to sleep, something about cramps. (She'd been very active, more than usual, that day. Had plenty of water afterwards) Has a similar complaint the night before. A little bit later, I felt the vibration again, but was interrupted by her leg movement. She mentioned something about cramps under her toes but when I massaged her foot, it was very pliable and flexible. It didn't happen again after that and then I sent her to her own bed. My first reaction was some sort of seizure activity, or maybe some sort of involuntary flexing? But, there was no body movement during the first 'episode' of vibration, and the during the second one, as I mentioned, it was interrupted by leg movement. I am aware of restless leg syndrome as I think I experience it periodically, and it was not that...the legs did not move on the first round of vibrations. Other suggestions have been landau kleffner syndrome or Myoclonus/Myoclonic seizures, but the descriptions don't fit. Thanks, in MD
Guest guest
Interesting. There must be some kind of muscle/nerve activity going on just before she feels a cramp. Is she on any prescriptions? Any known muscle issues, health issues? I get somethign that sounds like this too in my legs. Sometimes they vibrate a bit like that. I don't know if anyone else could feel it though through a bed..I would have to check that out. Mine are from a neuromuscular disorder that causes my muscles to be over active. Hers maybe just overdone and spasing a bit. I hesitate to tell you to see a neuromuscular specialist yet, because they will want you to do EMG testing which is painful in my opinion. I find that taking calcium helps. I would keep an eye on this though. Keep track of if she is having any discomfort with it or from it. How often it happens, what she did that day etc. Having had restless legs myself, which in my opinion is the New mercury syndrome, you definitely move your legs..a lot! And it's not the same as the vibration thingy. > > I experienced a strange episode with my daughter last night and I'm hoping > someone on here might be able to explain it: > > My daughter couldn't get back to sleep so she crawled into bed and snuggled > up with me. Guest guest
For us, we find a lot of help with B12 injections...we use injections as we are still having some gut issues. But it usually helps...also might look into potassium and magnesium along with the calcium. If you do the B12....beaware that yeast will go bonkers....so be ready with lots of yeast getters...pros or eaters.... Just my 2 cents. Ronni > > Interesting. Guest guest
>>Is she on any prescriptions? Any known muscle issues, health issues? No prescriptions, she does have adrenal fatigue which she's getting ACE for. Nothing else going on that I'm aware of...but see next comment >>There must be some kind of muscle/nerve activity going on just before she >>feels a cramp I did feel it again this morning when she was standing on the floor and playing on the bed. Her newest 'condition', (7 weeks old) is increased hand flapping (stimming)...created by 'butterflies that start at her tummy, go up through her chest out her arms and make her hands shake' Putting things together with her Anxiety-NOS diagnosis, I think there's a connection between her adrenal fatigue and anxiety/adrenaline malfunction. Again, I didn't feel the bed shake, but felt the vibration and though I couldn't see it in time, I know that she was doing some of that hand flapping. Sometimes the hand flapping is more her putting her hands to her mouth area and shaking the arms. I don't know...as you mentioned...I'll just keep track of it... Thanks for the input... in MD [ ] Re: strange vibrations > Interesting. There must be some kind of muscle/nerve activity going > on just before she feels a cramp. Is she on any prescriptions? Guest guest
Thanks Ronni: She is doing B12 injections every 3 days and also getting calcium/magnesium daily. Not a potassium supplement though. I'll have to look into that... Yeast does not appear to be an issue at present. in MD [ ] Re: strange vibrations > For us, we find a lot of help with B12 injections...we use injections > as we are still having some gut issues. Guest guest
No changes...never given her flagyl (HATE that stuff!) she's had antibiotics 3x in 5.5 yrs, no yeast issues >>They thought I was nuts way before that I'm at the point where I don't even want to see or talk to her ped any more... Guest guest
If it is a stim, could it be a viral issue....that was was and is a biggie here....the b12, calcium, magnesium and potassium is what we used for actual muscle tremors.....for stims....it seems to be related to viruses for us... Yeast isn't an issue....my aren't you a lucky lady! Glad to hear that...hope it keeps up that way...cuz that in itself does some really weird things. my best to you and yours Ronni > > Thanks Ronni: > She is doing B12 injections every 3 days and also getting calcium/magnesium > daily. Guest guest
That's been in the back of my mind as a cause...especially as I suspect the MMR booster. Just today I started the high Vitamin A protocol (400,000IU). No noticeable result so far. Will do the same tomorrow then give it a rest for a couple of weeks. As far as I know it's not yeast...no rings or rashes, no unusual cravings. Am I missing something? in MD [ ] Re: strange vibrations >> >> >> > For us, we find a lot of help with B12 injections...we use > injections >> > as we are still having some gut issues.
