Flu-like symptoms - achy joints, fatigue, runny nose, cough, etc. It's

miserable. Die-off symptoms are there because your body can't excrete the

toxins that dead yeast cells give off, so you want to go slowly with

antifungals and diet changes.

For my son, the first time we got to the full dose of Nystatin, after only being

on the half

dose for 3 days, he had a horribly painful stomach ache. He was sobbing. We gave

him a

foot bath with epsom salts and then I had to lie down with him until he fell

asleep. The

really bad pain lasted over an hour. We could not get him to swallow Activated

Charcoal

back then (6 months ago) because he couldn't swallow yet.

Then we went back to a half dose of Nystatin and took a full week to get back to

the full

dose. That time, his die off reaction was the worst tantrum we had ever seen. It

was

incredibly intense and went on for an hour or more. It may have been 2 hours. It

was

exhausting and frightening. We had to hold him down to get his feet in the foot

bath of

epsom salts and eventually he drank some Natural Calm magnesium. After about 20

minutes of being in the bath and getting the magnesium in, he settled down and

we got

him to go to bed. That was our experience with die off. It is extraordinary. I

remember

saying to my husband that we had " awakened a sleeping giant - the yeast. "

When we switched for a while to Diflucan, we expected more of the same. But

instead, he

would get pains in weird places like his cheeks or his shoulder blades would

hurt. And he

got some headaches. Diflucan goes into the whole body, I believe, whereas

Nystatin stays

in the intestine.

Incidentally, he is still on prescription anti-fungals (back on Nystatin) 6

months later and

we still see yeast in his urine. So I don't think it's totally gone yet.

Best of luck to you.

At my house, we had no negative symptoms, we just improved.

I never saw yeast die off from diet or supps or probiotics but I believe what

you are saying.

I only saw a little bit the first time we used Diflucan and then the changes to

the positive were so dramatic I thought a new person had entered our household.

Diflucan was actually a mellow transition into all good behaviors for us.

What I didn't count on was doing the Intravenous Secretin and the real kick butt

die off that happened from the increase of oxygenation to the whole body. My dau

was off the charts ADHD for the first 2 weeks - out of control talking, hyper,

crazy kid. The 2nd injection produced a little reaction but by the 3rd, no more

die off and just great responses with cognition.  I would guess that Diflucan

has a harder time reaching into the lower bowel and thats why we had such

reaction with the Secretin.  Also Secretin may have killed bacteria as well as

yeast.
