Guest guest
I have not used this, but there recently was a post, but not sure which board it was, that talked about a " medistraw " or " medi-straw " . You may want to google that and see if it's something you could use with your daughter. The capsule is put in this straw and when the person sips up a drink, the pill goes down the hatch! Guest guest
I've tried the pb and honey, but if you have a lot of pills, she'd be eating pb and honey all day. It does work though for small amounts. Thanks for the advice, everyone. I will check out the medistraw, too. -
Guest guest
We do the Houston chewables for enzymes, kind of like sweet tarts. We use Custom Probiotics, mix in juice and Brainchild vitamins and minerals liquid in juice. I've found chewable vit c, B-6 magnesium Wafer, he likes just fine from Kirkman, and a chewable calcium, tastes like a carmel at Walmart. I bought Zinc Lozenges too and haven't tried them from Kirkman. Will today actually, forgot! They dissolve in the mouth. Hopefully he'll like! So we are getting a lot of what we need pretty well without swallowing a pill here. I'd love to get a few more things down him that only come in pill form and we are working on that issue AGAIN! He's so very difficult on the swallowing pill subject! I bought a pill cup, that isn't working for him. Anyway.just some ideas. I've been using biotin pills for practice. Cheap and something I'd like to get down for yeast issues! Opening up capsules and crushing works too in applesauce. Tammy Re: how do you give pills to children? Guest guest
Tammy, Thanks for the advice. My daughter is extremely picky about what she puts in her mouth and she doesn't like most chewable pills. I have found some chewable enzymes and chewable probiotics from natural wellness center that she will tolerate, although she complains about it. She doesn't like any of the chewable calcium that I've tried, including the caramel, chocolate, and even the vanilla icecream animal parades. I will try the B-6 magnesium wafer from kirkman, though. It's definitely worth the money to try it and I'll keep the Houston chewables in mind. She doesn't like applesauce either.... lol. The medi-straw looks pretty interesting. I've ordered 2. I'll let you know how they work. Here's the link: http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/jump.jsp?itemType=PRODUCT & itemID=36391 Does anyone give amino acids to their kids? If so, what brand and how much? Thanks for everyone's help! -
Guest guest
I poured all the powders and oils into juice and used a measuring spoon to give to my 4 year old daughter. Before she was 5 she learned to swallow pills (even though she had oral aversions). I taught my son at 2 1/2 to swallow even the biggest pills after a couple of weeks. > > I have exhausted myself trying to find pills that are teeny tiny > softgels that my daughter can swallow.
