Guest guest
I have a 14 yr old son with PDD-NOS who was put on Seroquel over a year ago to help him calm his anger Hi I can't help you re Seroquel, but just to put it out there . . . it was suggested on this forum that anger / aggression can be a sign of bad bacteria overgrowth -and my son (a fair bit younger than yours) had episodes of that, so I insisted that faecal test be done to check it out. My doc (who is actually a good guy) really had his eyebrows raised over this, but, sure enough, the result came back that my son was really low on a couple of the good gut bacteria but really high on a couple of the nasties. He had a course of penicillin originally and all was well, but after a month or so, the anger recurred - we worked it out over time that he needs 4 days of penicillin every 28 days to cull the bad bacteria . . . and no more anger / aggression. Worth checking out just to be sure. Good luck :-)
Guest guest
, My son's temper flares were all entirely either food related or yeast related. He was on a number of medications to control temper .. Today he is 15 and off all meds to control temperament. We started treating him biomedically again last year .. He was tested for allergies and intollerances to food. Once we eliminated all of those foods from his diet (more that 60 yikes!) and once we got his yeast issues under control ... his outburst went away entirely. We have a much healthier, happier and focused child now. He was on paxil and tenex before ... Now he takes only 5HTP ... and a slew of other supplements for various deficiences he had ... but at least they are not blood pressure medications and pshycotrophic ones! Guest guest
I also have a teen son(for years we was told he was adhd). We never felt the need to medicate and at this point he is not considered adhd! We feel he viraly healed over time! Anyways around the age of 13/14 he started to have the boy hormone changes and his moods really became up and down etc. At 15yrs, moody, hot headed, just not the kid I remember at 12 etc. I dont know if you even allow soda's etc. We dont keep soda's, energy drinks in the house but he does get them alot when hanging with the friends!! I can always tell when he has been drinking them, he is so moody(brings them home or Ill ask when he is moody what he had to drink and it is always the same answer). Anyways, when he is more than he should be in attitude/moods etc. I start giving him magnesium(calming mineral) and aloe vera juice(natural anti inflamatory and clears his acne up also). He willing takes these due to he is athlete and wants to be in top condition(but does love those soda's). I know most of my sons behaiviour, weither good or not so good is due to his health and of coarse the hormones boys go through at this age! Guest guest
> In June, I started giving him Super Nu-Thera and started the AFP > Peptizyde. I added 500 mg vitamin C a few weeks later. SNT and vitamin C can both contribute to a yeast overgrowth problem, which can cause the issues you mention. Try increasing his yeast protocol, see if that helps http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm High B6 usually needs magnesium, so try giving him magnesium. Guest guest
Your concerns closely match mine, we have a 19 year old daughter still on a low dose of seroquel (25 mg) from 500 mg a couple years ago. She has been diagnosed PDD Otherwise Non Specified and has a lot of anger issues and self harms. Sorry don't have any answers for you yet, in the same boat as you. She's on multi vitamins, just started her on progestorone cream to try and address any hormone issues. Will report any changes, good or bad if we can keep this thread going. Guest guest
I agree with Dana. My dd (almost 20) was a volatile, angry young lady for about 6 years. I started her on yeast treatment a few months back and she is a different person these days. If she skips it for a few days, she gets sad, then weepy, then hateful. Not only that, for the first time in about 5 years, she's interested in life goals. She's taking art classes, working on starting her own business and taking responsibility for herself. She has a ways to go, and needs to be chelated once she's cleaner, but she has improved a great deal with everyday yeast maintenance.
