chelation thoughts

Thank you everyone for your kind posts to my intro. I have read much

info on the chelation files. Here are some basic questions...

I see that with Andy's protocol the chelator is given every 3 to 4

hours..depending on if ALA is given as well. Here is the obvious

question... would this would be around the clock?? You give this

during the night? I will do whatever it takes to help my sons...but I

just want to be sure I am understanding this right. Any suggestions on

how people are doing this successfully???

My oldest son is currently on a multivitamin powder called ASDplex

from Millenium Nutritionals. This has amino acids, TMG, NAC as well.

Any thoughts on this type of supplement?? We have a very hard time

finding the right supplements..as I am sure many of you have. Any

multivitamin/mineral that people love? I know each child is so different.

Any thoughts on IVIG??? We have taken my son to an immunologist, as I

reasoned that his 'autism' could be partly due to a weekened immune

system. After testing, they have diagnosed him with a primary immune

deficiency called Polysaccharide AB deficiency. He has received four

rounds of IVIG therapy, and after this last round we had a urine tox

screen done. He dumped lots of metals. Much more than with any

chelator we had used up until then. We had tried DM-DMPS for two

months, with giving it every other day. This was how it was

'prescribed' by our DAN doctor. We stopped as that DAN was

overcharging for labs and adding many unnecessary tests. We are just

trying to help our son, and we have found many crooks along the way!

Anyone relate?

So, I am searching to find the most appropriate chelation regimine. I

have also heard of DMSA from Kirkman labs. Is this product at all

comparable?

Thank you for any input. Sounds like you all really are striving to

help your children. I love that...

Deanne,

Round the clock means every 4 hours or 3 if Ala is used in a 24 hour period

continuously. So every 3 hours during the day, every 4 at night. Thanks for

pointing out to me that this was unclear and I'll try to be more succinct in the

future. You can dose 4 hours at night even if Ala is used as metabolism is

slower when the kids are at sleep.

Most people find a multivitamin too hard to use as there always seems to be

something that the kids don't tolerate well. We have used Life Extension powder

with good results but it has a lot of ingredients in it. Biotics Research also

makes a good multi without copper and iron (both not usually good for most kids)

called Bio-Multi Plus. Also Nature's Way makes a no iron formula that has a

little copper in it that does not seem to bother ours and we have used it with

good results and it is very inexpensive, unlike the ADPlex stuff.

NAC is fine as long as your boy tolerates it, but it has been suggested to keep

it low 100-200 mgs a day as cysteine has lots of thiols in it that will stir up

the mercury, but low dose is fine.

I don't know about the IVIG, hopefully Andy or someone else will comment about

this.

Kirkman's all of a sudden got a conscious and decided that their dmsa must have

an rx behind it after selling it as a supplement while td-dmps was around. Sorry

if I sound bitter, but this kills me. You can purchase dmsa at www.vrp.com

without a script and yes, it's the same thing that you get at the pharmacy or at

Kirkman's.

And yes, most of us can relate to the greed involved with our kids, too numerous

to merit individual mention, just read the archives at www.onibasu.com

Good luck and welcome,

Hi

Great info. I appreciate it so much..and I love your honesty and candor. We

have been to three DAN docs, and had countless labs drawn. We could have

some fun swapping stories I am sure. The bitterness was keeping me up at

night, so I have let it all go. I have truly found peace, and I finally feel

very ready to help my boys. I am sorry for the thousands that we have spent.

Thank goodness I have an understanding husband! No matter what, I have it

good.

I appreciate the vitamin recommendations. The files section is wonderful and

quite clear. I just have not met any parents that have chelated this way. I

do some social skills play groups in my home, and it is great to talk with

the parents. Many chelate, with many different protocols. Most seem to be

using TD-DMPS. So much out there. Lotions, baths, iv, oral, suppository, on

and on. Are kids being recovered?? I see the files, so there is much hope.

Thanks for the welcome..
