Guest guest
Did they get the Hep B at birth? Do you have any mercury amalgam dental fillings? Live downstream of a coal-fired power plant? S S " Did us in " is right. I'm not really sure the twins had any other source of mercury. I got the flu shot in pregnancy (seven months) I think. Then our son got one during the " flu shot shortage " of '04. I also shudder to think of it. We thought we were helping him because he'd had bronchiolitis and was on albuteral for the wheezes, which made the doc recommend him for those " few last available flu shots " . If only we'd had either a less " caring " doc or a more informed one. Good Lord. Our daughter didn't get a flu shot(s) until a year old, when our son got ANOTHER ROUND. That was two rounds of flu shots within six months of each other. He reacted almost immediately and our daughter's response was more subtle. Our son stopped smiling, seemed terribly sad and droopy. Everyone thought he looked soulful and handsome like that and I was freaking out completely. I thought I had emotionally scarred him in some unknown way and began taking him on special walks and buying new toys for both twins, etc.. Then he seemed to perk up and began doing the " eye thingy " of looking at things by rolling his eyes back into his head. That little quirk also faded- until (gulp) the next flu shot round at the age of two. The pediatrician we had at the time would sometimes tell us of stupid medical policies that he was skeptical of and would warn us about certain things to avoid, so I suspect he had NO idea what thimerosal could do. It's very sad. He had boy-girl twins, too and raised them attachment-parenting style, encouraging us to do extended b-feeding and to adopt the " family bed " , which we did. Then, very soon after " Evidence of Harm " came out in 2005 (we didn't hear of the book until this year, unfortunately, though it would have come out just after the twins' last flu shot anyway), this ped suddenly closed his practice and went to work for the *prison system*. Seriously. I think he's the type who would have forced himself to read the book and we've sometimes imagined that he had a nervous breakdown. Are we p.o.'ed that he didn't offer his own head on a platter by writing " sue me " postcards to all his pediatric clients? I don't know. We don't think about it much. It's the drug companies, it's the government agencies, it's the flu shot and vaccine lobbyists and paid mouth-pieces. It's the docs who stayed in business long after the evidence of harm became clear enough to give pause. _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!
