Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: cuch1986 He (DeMio)was saying that if the body burden of mercury is high and you use ALA which crosses the BBB then you can theoretically redistribute the mercury that was pulled from another area of the body INTO the brain. <<<<This is the old way of thinking of Ala and did not start with DeMio. If you read Dr. McCandless's book you will find that she used dmsa until there was little mercury being excreted and then added Ala. It is true that Ala will distribute mercury into the brain IF and only IF you dose longer than the half life, which is three hours. And McCandless had the standard " dose eight hours if you like " method. I'm sure DeMio is talking about Ala used this way and not the 3 hour dosing that Andy recommends. I have heard him say to try the dosing of chelators every 8 hours and if you have trouble, dose more frequently.>>>> > > I was (am) listening to the autism one webcast with DeMio, MD > with Angie Shoemaker. He does not recommend using ALA for chelation > that it can cause more problems by bring mercury back into the brain. > He said it may be ok to use it with DMSA towards the end of chelation > but not by itself. This goes against what Andy says I think that ALA > can be used fine alone if given every 3 hours. Thoughts? >
