Guest guest
100 mg is WAY too high for a young child. There are many " experts " on this list, one which I am not, but the information I am seeing and reading says that a very low dose (5-10 mg) every 3 to 4 hours is necessary. 4 hours being the maximum length between doses, NO EXCEPTIONS. 100mg is too high for an adult! I'm sure you will get many answers from those on this list that know this inside and out. My background is ADHD, and I will tell you that when kids have trouble focusing, we recommend EFA and EPA, dosed 2:1, two to three times a day. We have never put ALA into that equasion. I have purchased some ALA from my chiropractor now and he tells me that Collin only needs to take one 100 mg pill every other day. I would like very much to follow his directions but I keep reading here that everyone on this site uses it every 3 hours or less to keep from redistributing the metals. If I'm using it with an oral chelater is that okay? Will that insure that the metals won't redistribute? What should I do? __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Please do not use it for this purpose. It does pull mercury from the brain and must be dosed by weight and on a three hour protocol. giving it every other day or in that high of a dose will likely make him worse. Many doctors do not know or realize that ala chelates mercury. You can give ala with a chelator as part of the chelation round on the correct dosing schedule. But not randomely as the chiropracter suggested. Other things for focus like EFA's, choline, inositol, PABA, vitamins in general... > > I need some information please. Guest guest
If your child has any mercury amalgam dental fillings you cannot safely use it until he has them removed by a mercury-free dentist using proper protocol. Guest guest
Hi All, Yet Another ALA question . I tried to look at archives but could not find the right answer to this. I have been chelating my son with DMSA for about 16 rounds now (6 with Andy protocol and before on suppositories). He has been pulling lots of lead all along and he keeps improving steadily . I understand that a lot of you add ALA at this stage or even before this . My DAN doctor is very open-minded about Andy's protocol but he is very concerned about adding ALA since he feels mercury could go into his brain from the body. My son hasnt started to pull mercury at all and so the body burden could be quite high. He has not had a exposure in the form of amalgams or anything though. Does ALA work both ways (Push mercury in and out of brain). If so what is the rational behind using it now ? Is there any doc on how ALA exactly works ? Is it explained in Andy's book. I am sure if so many of you have done this before, its for a good reason and after thinking this through If someone could enlighten me please .. Thanks, Kavitha
