Guest guest
You probably want to join the K group and read the files on the list before you would supplement this. Maybe someone will post the group addy, sorry not good at that. Maybe search the ? [ ] Vitamin K2 dosage I was hoping if I reposted this separately maybe it would catch someone's attention who knows the answer.. My son is 14 y/o weighing 135 lbs. What dose schedule would be appropriate? The document on this site suggests 15mg three times a day for an adult. I would think at his age and weight he would get the adult dose, but that sounds way too high to me. Thank you!
Guest guest
Which kind of K2? There are several kinds MK7 (Menaquinone), Menatretone (sp?) and I think one other. I'm wondering the same myself as VRP sells two different dosages of the menatretone but both say 1 capsule daily. Both provide significantly over 100% of the (RDA?) but I've read that menatretone is not well absorbed... Guest guest
Wow! This is all so very confusing...I wish I had all the money in the world to go to the best DAN doctor in the country (whoever that may be!) Why can't Vitamin K2 just be Vitamin K2....the VRP does have two kinds.....it sounds like the one with K1/K2 is more for blood clotting issues....and the K2 (menatetrenone)is more for bone health. Does any one know? I looked online at the Carlson labs brand and it is also Menatetrenone......but only gives you 5mg per tablet. I found a link....gotta cook dinner, but I am going to read it later on Vitamin K..here is the link http://www.innvista.com/health/nutrition/vitamins/k.htm > > > Which kind of K2? Guest guest
Both of VRPs contain K2 as menatetrenone (which is a synthetic form, from my understanding). The one with just K2 is a higher dose. I've taken a bottle's worth of their K1/K2. At first I took 2 capsules but then ended up with a cough/cold which may or may not have been coincidence (it's rare that I take any sick time off work, but took two days for that). I cut back to one capsule. I began taking it because I have terrible teeth and think/hope it might help remineralize them by getting my body to put the calcium where it belongs. I finished the first bottle and am trying to decide whether/which to order but wonder if the higher dose one would be too much since 2 caps of the lower dose may or may not have caused problems for me. I need more dental work and would really like to remineralize them and reverse the need for some of that work. Natural K2 is in fermented foods. We found a good vegan goulash recipes which includes sauer kraut and have been having that recently. We also eat kim chee from time to time (my husband & I, no kids on or off the spectrum). Wish I had answers rather than more questions. I may do another hair test to see how my calcium looks on that before I decide. My hair calcium has been high, so I was probably dumping. I usually do hair tests annually or so and my last one was last June, but I want to order one for my niece and may as well order both at once. S S --- On Thu 03/08, iluvhomeschoolingmykids < Wow!
