Call for ideas: constipation file, please help

Listmates,

I think it might be helpful if we had a file on constipation so that we

don't have to chase ideas all over the place for this very common issue.

I'd like your help in putting one together.

If you feel you have anything to contribute please email me privately

at mysuperteach @ hotmail.com (without the spaces) and I'll pull

together all of the information and place it in the FILES section.

I was thinking that four categories might be appropriate:

I: CAUSES AND THEIR POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

Example: Low stomach acid can cause constipation. Try using

unbuffered vitamin C or Betaine HCl to raise stomach acid levels. Low

stomach acid can be a problem for " slow metabolizers " on the hair test

and kids with low CO2 on blood draws.

II: TRICKS/PRODUCTS/TESTS THAT MAY PROVE HELPFUL IF YOU CAN'T ESTABLISH

THE CAUSE

III: STORIES OF SUCCESS

I personally find these sorts of things to be most helpful particularly

when details are given that might relate to my kid.
