Hi Annie,

Welcome to the group. Comments interspersed.

Hi-
My names's Annie and I'm new to the group. My sweet boy is 3years old and we're

thinking
about chelation. We've tried many things with some improvement...but he

still has a way
to go. Our DAN wants us to do EDTA with an IV. I won't get a chance to have an
appointment with her for a few weeks so I want to do my homework between now and
then.

*Good for you. What are you trying to chelate? Have you done a DDI hair

elements test and applied counting rules?

From what I've read IV- EDTA is NOT recommended by those here...I'd love
specifics about why so I can battle our Dr's potential arguements.

*Because IVs are invasive and oral ALA and DMSA chelation works fine if done

with appropriately low, frequent dosing. In " Hair Test Interpretation: Finding

Hidden Toxicities " by Hall Cutler, Ph.D., P.E. p. 246 he says EDTA should

never be used with mercury toxic people under any circumstances.

Since I haven't sat down
with her yet, I don't know her reasoning. Can anyone guide me to more info

please?

It
would be much appreciated!!
(I was on VERY HIGH doses of terbutaline (brethine) during my

pregnancy...since I kept
going into pre-term labor.)
Hello Annie,

Looks like you have some good things started and I am glad you are seeing

improvements.

By now you have probably been told that IV-EDTA is pretty drastic and not

necessarily going to yield the results you are looking for.

I recommend that you order from Direct Labs the DDI hair test and apply the

counting rules.

Assuming the test comes back with the markers for Mercury and Deranged

Mineral Transport then consider doing the much safer and effective chelation

method most people on this list use. Low and Slow (Andy Cutler) protocol.

Good Luck !

Neil
