I never smelled any sulfur while using TD-DMSA, but always smell

sulfur while using oral. Would that mean anything? We also didn't

see positive change on TD-DMSA like we do with oral. I am now

questioning if any DMSA made it past the skin.

That might indicate that not much dmsa was getting in. We don't

always get the smell with dmsa, only periodically, and as we have

gotten on in chelation...that problem seems to be gone now. I find

the odor reasuring, it means it's working!

I would say the " scientific " hyptohesis is that there was no active DMSA in the

TD DMSA

due to air oxidation.

DMPS and DMSA are very sensitive to air oxidation in liquids. I am really quite

surprised

that Dr. Buttar was clever enough to come up with a formulation for TD DMPS that

preserves the activity of the DMPS. The fact that all compounding pharmacies

will whip

something up if you ask (and a doc orders it) is no guarantee that what they

whip up will

actually work. The lack of knowledge of descriptive chemistry on the part of

some doctors

and pharmacists does not change how the chemicals behave.

Andy,

Do you expect sulfur compounds to smell even after they chelate

metals in the body. We use DMSA suppositories and found that some

urine voids in the 6 hrs post suppository insertion have strong

smell. Other voids do not have the smell. I would have expected that

DMSA bound by metals would not or smell less of the typical rotten

eggs so typical of unchelated sulfur compounds. I want to know for

sure if my son is absorbing the DMSA and then effective in chelating

the metals. Please comment.

Many Thanks
