Andy,

My daughter is 5yrs. old and on the ASD spectrum. Back in June we

tried a chelator (per our doctor) called NDF Plus. Initially, my

daughter made good immediate gains in the areas of langauge,

engagement, attention/focus and coping; however, after about 1 month

she stopped having daily BM's and was only going weekly and then she

regressed and lost all the gains and more. We were only on the

chelator for 1 month (only a few drops per day) and we did a fecal

metal test and it revealed she was pulling lots of metals. Lead,

Thallium,Tungsten and Uraniun in the yellow range. Anitimony,

Arsenic,Bismuth, Copper in very high green- almost touching yellow,

Mercury 1/4 way through green and Beryllium all the way in the red.

This gives me hope that my daughter is a good excretor, but the

regression was very alarming!!!

Initally I thought she regressed because of metal

redistribution...any thoughts? My doctor said my daughter canno't

tolerate any sulpher based chelators and that is why we tried NDF

Plus; however, I am still interested in trying DMSA in conjuction

with ALA using your protocol. Our doctor does not want us to chelate

until our daughter's bowels are under control, but I don't see it

happening any time soon? Do u know many kids who canno't tolerate

sulpher? We have never chelated with any sulpher based chelator,

this is our doctors belief that our daughter canno't tolerate

sulpher.

Many Thanks, Pat

Upon what did your doc based his or her claim that your child doesn't tolerate

sulphur? And does he or she believe that the lipoic acid in NDF Plus is

magically non-sulphur? Many on this list chelate without a doctor, because they

can't find one who understands safe, effective chelation.

This sounds like possibly yeast overgrowth. What does her yeast

protocol look like?

I suspect that your DAN! doctor probably had your child take a Large amount

of the NDF plus, this alone probably caused problems.

Also, if that stirred up Yeast (which it probably did) that can cause

constipation.

Based on the initial good results you had doing it that way, you will

probably see much better results doing it properly.

Your instincts are correct, read up on the proper supps, especially the

extra Vit-C and Magnesium to help with the BM's.

Get plenty of cheap pro-biotics and other possible yeast killers ready.

Do 10 rounds of DMSA or DMSA/ALA and you will probably be much happier with

the results.

Good Luck !

Neil
