Toxic Mold Segment on CBS Early Show

: I thought you may be interested in knowing that this Friday morning, The

: Early Show (CBS TV), with Gumbel and Jane Clayson, will feature a

: segment on toxic mold.

: This segment was precipitated because of a cover story on toxic mold which

: will appear in this Sunday's edition of The New York Times Magazine.

I don't know if you knew it or not but NBC

had a story about mold as well. It was

aired about 1 hour later. Actually better

questions were asked by the reporter on

this show. They showed a large apart

ment building infested with mold and all

the tenants moving out. They talked to

an invironmentalist Dr. from the north

east and he was as open and honest as

most doctors have been in the past. The

reporter also brought up the fact that

most doctors are treating incorrectly be

cause they have only a few hours of

training in the toxin field. He did not deny

that....Two shows in one morning...we're

moving in the right direction. The more

media attention the more the average

person will hopefully become educated on

this issue. Had any of this information

been aired before any of us got sick I am

sure we would have made more positive

steps in the right direction....

I only wish we could get the information

about media coverage more than a days

notice. Sometimes notice comes to us

the day it is to be aired.
