Guest guest
I just finished reading the whole article. I was crying by the end-just because I am so happy to see this information in print. I'm so glad that this came out right know so I know we are not crazy. Do you guys feel that way sometimes? I mean we know the improvements we have seen in our son Porter are real but I hate being under constant attack from family who think we have gone off the deep end, quackwatch and all the anti'curbies' on the web. I'm also so glad that they said what they did about not always aiming for a 'full recovery' just the best you can do for the kids. I can not imagine a better article on autism and the potential treatments available. I am so glad Discover printed it. I loved how they tip toed around the vaccine-mercury stuff-it was there but spread out. The funniest line says 'a growing sense that low dose, multiple toxic and infectious exposures may be a major contributing factor to autism and its related disorders.' that is a political way of saying VACCINES CAUSE AUTISM isn't it? 'low dose, multiple toxic and infectious exposure' that is a real long subtle way to say vaccines. I laughed for 5min over just that sentence. I guess the author had to be really careful about how she said it. I learned with papers I have written that people shut down and stop listening when you say vaccines and mercury cause autism. It is like you just told them you saw a space ship and Elvis was piloting it. I'm gonna buy a dozen copies and take them to all the doctors, teachers and anti'curbies' that have snickered at us for the last year and say in the words of my teenage daughter 'oh! what now?'. I would rather be a crazy 'curbie' than a 'quitter' or a 'never got off my ass and tried anything to help my kid' parent anyway.
