Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the notes of encouragement. I can't believe it has been two months since starting the guaifenesin and whey. At first, as you know, it was rough going. The guai really made my pain level shoot up in my joints but, as I continued the dose, my pain gradually leveled off and began to return to normal, now it's diminishing somewhat and time to up my dose - jeeze louise. I would get very sore spots around the different " trigger points " - usually in my neck or back in places I couldn't reach - places which needed the heating pad, long, hot tubs soaks and massage. The problem with trying to massage yourself is the pain in my hands - if you have hand pain and the fact that you never rub hard where it hurts. Kind of like trying to tickle yourself - futile. I have got to tell you some of the good stuff. First, the abdominal swelling, bloating and pain are gone. Totally. No more stabbing pain in the center of my chest/abdomen or indigestion - they are totally gone. I kept waking up expecting them to return every day like they always have but they are gone! Is it the whey or the guai - I don't know - whichever, it is wonderful not to see a bloated figure in my mirror every day. Another benefit - my appetite, what little I had has virtually disappeared - not in a bad sick way, but in a good, just not hungry way. After having my morning coffee, I drink the whey (powdered whey mixed with water) and then eat my daily banana. I wish I could get in the habit of eating a daily apple, but like many of you, my teeth are causing problems so I hate biting into hard things. Then, I may have a salad or something and munch a little here and there - but nothing much. So many of you have talked about the weight gain and the fluid retention so I know it is a hurtful reminder of your exposure. Of course, I drink a ton of water every day according to that " water doctor " who thinks everything can be cured by water (he hasn't met toxic mold, yet!) but even though I am drinking a lot, there is no fluid retention in my hands and ankles/feet like I used to get. And before I forget - the tingling from the peripheral neuropathy in my hands has started to fade. Not a lot, but enough that I sense warmth and a reconnection somehow. If I have missed something you are interested in hearing about, please let me know. According to what I've read, I should be " detoxing " - if you want to call it that - at the rate of 1 year for every two months on the therapy. Whatever the toxin does to our nerves, it does it good. I have had nerve pain in my right elbow now for days. Before I forget - has anyone else had high potassium levels after exposure? I was looking for my old labs tests, but so far have been unsuccessful. One of our members mentioned that she has this so I was curious what this means. My mom takes blood pressure meds that can, I think, cause low potassium - so what can this mean at the metabolic level? Should she be taking calcium with magnesium to counteract this? Ideas welcome. Guest guest
Dear Barbara, We have all of your symptoms. My husband had 4 heart attacks in 11 days last summer. After escaping the mold, we are doing better HOWEVER, we have yet to find a helpful doctor. I was a nutritional trainer for spray vitamin supplements for 3 1/2 years before all of this hit. But I do not know about guaifenesin and whey. What is this and where do we get it. We have had good results with feenegreek tablets to detox. Our joints are so painful and we want to clean this nasty stuff out. Any help you can recommend will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for being here. ngandee@... >From: " bherk " <bherk@...> >Reply- > " Sick Buildings " < > >Subject: [] Update on " My Summer Project " >Date: Fri, 10 Aug 2001 17:36:03 -0400 > >Thanks everyone for the notes of encouragement.
