Guest guest
Hi friends, I have a co-worker with a 13 y/o grandson, possibly bi-polar. He is currently on a new patch med for adhd, that 1/2 comes off when he puts it on. He just started this one last week when school started. It is not metabolized, goes straight into the bloodstream. He is also on an anxiety med, probably been on it for a year. He is very artistic. He is very, very sensitive, and has terrible social skills. He has been taking magnesium (120 mgs) and fish oil gel caps (omega 3 and 6). She has noticed an improvement with these two (calmer, not as easily aggrivated). He is going to the doctor for tests this Friday (she is not sure what kind of doctor). She (grandma) thinks he may have sensitivity to wheat, as his diet staple is processed foods. What questions should mom ask of the doctor, also, are there specific tests for sensitivities to wheat, glutens, caseins? They will be seeing " regular " doctors, not a DAN type that understands our kid's needs. I advised they will be up against the usual " wall " of non-believers. I plan to lend her my " Enzymes and Autism " book, at least to get a feel for biomed. Thanks to all!! --------------------------------- oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links.
