Look through Moria's pages or search the archives to see if you can find some ideas about how to give the night doses and get him back to sleep. It's not a good idea to skip night doses because there will be more redistribution and worsening of symptoms. http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ J > Thanks, > Grace >
Guest guest
Please read the FAQs of this list. If you can't do the night doses, consider oral DMPS which can be dosed every 8 hrs but requires a prescription. Whoever prescribes will probably prescribe too high a dose so you'll have to educate yourself about that and adjust it. I used a protocol that is not recommended by most people on this list. I gave ALA 3x per day, which worked fine for my kids. It does not work for all kids tho. Per Cutlers book, this is very dangerous and will cause " redistribution " of the metals. It will basically retoxify him. In the beginning, when I only missed a dose by 2 hours, I was told by several on another list which follows Cutlers book to stop chelation altogether and restart after the same amount of days on chelators have passed. I don't believe one full day is enough to pull the mercury out AND leave the body. Nahla
Guest guest
Grace, I chelate my son and myself, and your idea seems to be a bad one to me, given our experiences, and what I know about chelators. Have you considered giving your son something like 5HTP to help him sleep more deeply through the night? Or maybe adding some white noise to help? Be sure to keep things very, very dark. I would also consider practicing with nonchelators a few nights. It can be surprising how kids can adapt to these things. My son was very much like yours (and still can be) but chelation nights are often his best sleeps. Be sure to check which supplements Andy recommends having on board first (in the supplement file, at the end) and start at the very low end of the recommendations. It is also best to start with just one, rather than both chelators. Guest guest
Thanks for everyone's input on my question. It helps me to make inform decision and make the right choice of protocol. I haven't started yet and I'm aware of all the supplements that comes along with chelating. So my other question is, my son is also high in antimony and I read that SAM-e is good for that. Do I have to address this at the same time doing the DMSA or do I have to do it on some other days? Just curious... Thanks in advance for all your help! Guest guest
If you use SAM-e be sure to supplement B vitamins in order to keep homocysteine in control.
