Guest guest
Hi, Am in the middle of round one of chelating 11 year old son with 25mg DMSA and 50 mg ALA. Since he's 11 some of his behaviors lately are confusing: what's prepuberty and what's yeast and now chelation. Anyway, tonight he and my husband got into an argument and he just had a MAJOR tantrum/ screaming melt down. Seems extra defiant and then moody. Currently he's on: Zoloft, metadate, multivitamin, multimineral, epa/dha, and carnitine. I've been working on yeast issues and have been giving candidase/2 capsules with one of virastop once a day. And probiotic every other day. Prior to this he's been tempramental but tonight definitely seemed out of the norm. Any ideas? Are you giving doses every 3 h in the daytime and every 4 h at night? The starting dose on Andy's protocol is 1/8 mg per pound. The doses that you are using are too high to start. It would be better to start with a lower dose of one chelator and do some rounds at that dose to see how he responds before adding the second chelator (and the second chelator would be started at 1/8 mg per pound or lower). > Since he's 11 some of his behaviors lately are confusing: what's > prepuberty and what's yeast and now chelation. It is best to find a dose where he is comfortable. > Currently he's on: > Zoloft, metadate, multivitamin, multimineral, epa/dha, and carnitine. Check the supplement file. Vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium, zinc, are important, and others J > I've been working on yeast issues and have been giving candidase/2 > capsules with one of virastop once a day. Guest guest
He doesn't have amalgam fillings. He weighs about 85 lbs. So if I were to go to DMSA only at 25 mg. I think that falls closer to the starting dose. Would we just stop the ALA cold turkey or finish the cycle? Thanks, Maureen
Guest guest
On the last day of a round my son (and I) are both a little extra cranky because our sleep is disturbed and we're tired! Perhaps fatigue plays in to this if you are dosing every 3 hours... ALA might be a little high, too. You could reduce this to 25 mgs the next round. Age 11 is tough~ Pam > > Hi, > > Am in the middle of round one of chelating 11 year old son with 25mg > DMSA and 50 mg ALA. > > Since he's 11 some of his behaviors lately are confusing: what's > prepuberty and what's yeast and now chelation. Guest guest
You could stop the ALA and finish the round with DMSA. People often stop the ALA first and do the last doses with DMSA only. 1/8 * 85 = 10.6, a dose of 10 mg would be enough for starting rounds. J > > He doesn't have amalgam fillings.
