Guest guest
Hi all, Many people seem to be struggling with insurance and I am now in the same boat. With only two weeks away from my daughter's (Leigha) surgery we got a letter from insurance denying to pay for her DOC band that she will need after the surgery. They sighted on the letter that their physician reviewer felt it was not needed for her condition. I won't get into the messy feelings I have right now about how this is one more stress I did not need with only 2 weeks until surgery but I do want to share what I know about insurance since I myself work in the medical field. If you have to file an appeal they will normally reject you three times. In other words - keep appealing! I know to go through this and keep fighting is a pain but the insurance company just wants for people to give up. Its us persistant parents that keep fighting that win in the end. Usually it is nothing personal - they just want to keep their money. Have your physician write a letter, contact other physicians to write in support of the DOC-, Star- band, and molding helmets. In the case of Insurance persistance is everything - DONT GIVE UP! If you have been rejected more than once just remember that you are that much closer to making them cave in. =) BIG {{HUGS}}
