Guest guest
, May I ask you a question? I went to the below website and noticed to get the 20 grams of protein you have to eat 70 grams of carbs. Which seemed high to me. I thought maybe you had insight that I'm not getting. Thanks I did book mark the web site. The 7 cookie sample pack (one of each flavor) in a smaller cookie ends up being $7.20. Guest guest
I bought these cookies and they are huge! I could and still can only eat 1/4 to 1/2 at the time. I too found when I looked at the ingredients there were too many other factors that made me reconsider using them. Ended up throwing most of them away. The flavor was OK although they did have the flavor of sawdust in the background. LOL My son said these were largely used by body builders. Just adding a first hand experience for you to consider! Guest guest
No, no real insight here. I was just passing along information, not " endorsing " the product as the best protein source. There are some out there that are not getting enough protein ... maybe they can't tolerate meat well, don't like any of the other protein sources. If they are not " carb sensitive " the cookie might be a good option. I personally would eat them " occasionally " . I would not make it my daily protein source. They are " good carbs " I believe -- not the same carbs as eating a Snickers bar. in gaa > > , > May I ask you a question? Guest guest
I just went back and looked at the ingredients ... the cookies are made from oats, brown rice, Fruit Trim which is a xylitol sweetener, fruit juice, fruit purees, etc. There is some evaporated cane juice, probably for sweetener also. My thought is the high carb count comes from the extensive use of fruit and fruit puree. I know that I can tolerate those types of carbs much better than carbs from pasta, chocolate, " sugar " as such ... my Weight Watchers leader used to say that no one ever got fat from eating fruit! Let's compare a couple of things I have on hand ... Kashi Go-Lean chocolate peanut butter: 280 calories, 6 grams of fat, 13 grams of protein but 50 grams of carbs ... 26 of which are " sugar " . There are 7 grams of fiber. Pay-Day Pro, which is very much like a Pay Day candy bar, quite good in my opinion, is 240 calories, 12 grams of fat, 19 grams of carbs with 2 grams being fiber and 13 grams being sugar. There are 15 grams of protein per bar. The Snickers Chewy Chocolate Peanut, again very much like a candy bar and quite good in my opinion, is 220 calories, 13 grams of protein, and 27 grams of carbs (don't have the breakdown of fiber, sugar, etc. because I didn't have one on hand). I have never ordered the full sized cookies -- I ordered the sample pack and I don't remember if they were 1/2 the size or 1/4 the size .. I think 1/4 the size. I don't know if I would be disciplined enough to eat only half of the cookie, thereby taking in about 220 calories and 10 grams of protein, making it more comparable to the bars listed above. Bottom line is ... if you are having trouble getting protein this might be a good option. If you need a snack during the day that is not packed with " empty " carbs and calories, this might be a good choice. If you need a " meal replacement " for on the go ... this might be a good choice. Everyone has to pick the right thing for them. There are some that eat a Snickers Marathon every day and have no problems with it. I know there is someone on the preop list that recently is saying they love the Pay Day Pro. We are all different. We all have different tastes. We respond to carbs differently. in gaa > > , > May I ask you a question? I went to the below website and noticed to get > the 20 grams of protein you have to eat 70 grams of carbs.
