Guest guest
And Gilmore! Very few people work harder than . I have been lucky to witness his character, work ethic and effort over the past two years. We are not heros, I personally don't like that word, but, If we can raise the bar for advocacy just like many on this list have done, we will be in a better position the affect change. The well wishes and appreciation are appreciated because of the enormous sacrifices made by those who choose to do this while juggling all the other difficult challenges. Those hearings did not happen on their own. They were the result of a collaborative and persistent effort between a very small group of people. For 34 of the 38 speakers it was their first trip ever to the State Capital on any autism issues. These hearings actually do very little to affect change, compared to quietly and consistently meeting with legislators and asking them to support and/or sponsor bills. If we can pass legislation in NY with our dysfunctional legislature than you guys, as many have, can do it in your dysfunctional legislature. It is people like offering to film this that will actually help us in the fight. It was the only camera in the room and captured high ranking state doctors, academics and other state officials giving false testimony to the state assembly. This will be a key tool in persuading those legislators who may be undecided or worried about making tough decisions. Thank you so much for doing this . We don't need heros just more people like and willing work hard for all of our kids by making real sacrifices. > > > >> > > > > >> > Here are 2 clips from Mike ¹s full speech at the NYS Autism > > > > Hearings > > > >> > last month. > > > >> > > > > >> > > > > >> > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeKG7O‹nWQ > > > >> > > > > >> > > > > >> > I¹ll post more this week. > > > >> > > > > >> > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
