Andy (or anyone else),

We recently had some tests run for our #2 (4.5yo, 45lbs.) by Genova

regarding O2 stress, etc. The results were:

Serum Sulphate: 3.1 (ref. range 3.0-5.9 mg/dL)

Serum Cysteine: 0.52 (ref. Range 0.61-1.16 mg/dL)

Oxidative Stree Panel: Glutathione 632 (ref. Range >= 669 umol/L), Lipid

Peroxides 4.9 (ref. range <= 10.0 umol/L)

The dr. rx'd TD-NAC which we've been ramping up with over the past two

weeks. Yesterday at the max dose (unsure of how the dose correlates to the

lines on the syringe, I believe it was 10ml but don't quote me) 5 minutes

after application he started screaming because he chest (the application

area) was burning and today he still had redness there. Prior to that we've

had no problems. So my questions are:

1. do we really need NAC in this case? He does seem to be a bit better

since we started but that could be pure coincidence. For the record we

aren't comfy for glut injections for the reasons you've given time and again

and we waited for these test results before doing anything.

2. does oral NAC really stir the heck out of yeast compared to TD? I've

seen opinions in both directions. We were warned about ALA (TD vs. oral) in

a similar fashion and we do have some yeast problems but it hasn't been

completely out of control (candex and nystatin seem to do the job).

3. I seem to recall from one of your books that oral NAC should be dosed at

20mg/lb but not sure how many times per day.

4. anything else to try, Vitamin C, etc.?

Thanks!
