Well, I give him B,C,E,Milk thistle, CLO, Omega 3, probiotics, acetyl carnitine.

He does not mind ils, but B, Acetyl carnitine and milk thistle tastes pretty

bad. Also ordered DMSA today, so just wondering how it'll go every three

hours...We'll see

Thanks

Some parents have found it better just to stop trying to trick the

kids and instead make supplement taking a non-negotiable part of

their daily routine. As you can already see, he'll start refusing

things he normally eats if he suspects you've been messing with

them. That is not a great trend to start.

It is tough; especially when the kids aren't able to swallow pills.

The sheer number of supplements we often use on a daily basis is

enough to make ME irritable!

What are you trying to give him? Some supplements are better

disguised in certain foods. I don't blame him for refusing protein

powder... I don't particularly care for it.

  • 2 weeks later...

I open small 100% four oz juice boxes and mix the supps with the juice and

syringe it all back through the straw hole in the juice box. Taken through

a straw it doesn't taste so bad and hides the yucky colors and " floaties " .

He drinks the entire box without a problem. If he does not drink it all, I

just add a little more juice and dilute it more and down it goes.

Works wonderfully for us and we don't have to hold his head between our legs

while he is screaming hysterically and traumatically force his little jaws

open and watch him gag and strangle on the syringed supps because that is

the only other way we can get it down him. And then when he stood up from

the torture if we managed to get any in at all he would just regurgitate it

all up on purpose :-( I prefer the " juice box method " much less traumatic

for " me " too and I am a whimp.

I open the capsule and mix the contents with water, then give it from

a small medical syringe (without the needle, of course). My son is a

picky eater, so i never know whether he would or would not eat or

drink smth and mixing with food was just a waste of time and supps. My

method is a bit tough but at least i know for sure that he really had

all the supps.

That's sound like a good idea, but for four times of supplements 4 boxes of juce

may be is too much. I do it now with peanut butter, but your idea is good also,

I'll try, he loves juces

Thanks!

You can get MOTTS for Totts in juice boxes and it has half the sugar. Also

sometimes use ice tea sweetened with Xylitol and a very few things blend

unnoticeably with water.

I wish our little one liked Peanut Butter...:( does not like ice cream,

yogurt, or applesauce so we are pretty limited in what we can sneak in..also

might try a little Agave nectar (quarter teaspoon) sometimes..that works!
